I have been a coffee addict for a long time and have tried in vain to find the perfect brew. Until a year ago! Until Morris & co moved into Burwood. I had previously had to put up with the rough, over-roasted taste of Michels. Bar Veloce sits at the sunny corner of Murray Arcade located on Burwood Road. This coffee is as close as your taste buds will come to an orgasmic experience! And the food is second-to-none. All fresh produce, freshly cooked for you out the back. The traditional minestrone is the best I've tasted. The service is the best I've experinced anywhere. Morris is the Barista, Rita (great laugh!) and Hugo do the food and Richard helps out a few days. A great family business and I can't believe it's only a few doors down from work! Looking forward to the new extensions. Highly recommended! James G

I work in the retail service industry and our company prides itself on the prompt, exemplary service we offer to our customers who are the most important part of our business, without whom we would not BE in business. Consequently, as a consumer, I am always on the lookout for great service myself when I buy something but I think perhaps my expectations are a little too high. An example:
On 6th July of this year I entered Sleep City, Annandale as I needed a new bed. The salesman greeted me after I tried a few mattresses. Long story short, I tried a few more, left then came back later that day and decided to purchase the Glebe Queen Bed base and side table as there was a sale on these items. Another customer was served before me (they walked in AFTER me, cardinal sin of retail) and when the salesman was ready to take my money there was a problem with his Eftpos machine but he sorted it out eventually. He informed me that there would be a wait of about 4-5 weeks. I said that would be okay and paid a deposit with the balance to be paid upon delivery. This was 2 months ago!! There was no communication from anyone in the company to me until I called the head office number to find out where my base was and was then given an S.O. order number. The salesman then called me the next day at work, told me to hold the line (unacceptable) and then said he would be 'looking after me'. (Which has as yet not transpired). I called them again today and they told me it would be ANOTHER 2-3 weeks. Where's the bed base coming from? The moon? I'm surprised a company like this would advertise stock on the sales floor but have nothing to give the customer for months! Why lull the customer into a false sense of security?

Had I known it was going to take so long and that there would be no communication from them, I would have gone to one of Sleep Citys competitors a few doors down. Buyer beware! I'm don't normally ‘complain' like this but I feel I should warn others. I hope other customers have a better experience than I did and I hope the company learns how to communicate. James.
