Safi is a new tapas bar and bistro in Gardenvale. It is ideal for birthday parties (has a large room out the back) or a relaxed good value meal. Whilst it describes itself as a tapas bar the menu is diverse including pastas, morrocan tagine and steaks. I had the char grilled ribeye which was fantastic. The place is open for lunch and dinner, and serves breakfast on the weekend.

Make sure you ask for a window seat as this restaurant gives you a wonderful view of Port Phillip Bay. Food is excellent. Make sure you go for the 2 or 3 course lunch with a glass of wine for $30 - Great value

These no-nonsense shoe repairers have been around for decades. Make sure you say hi to their resident pooches. Nice honest people.
