I have been looking to buy a new digital camera and went here to check out the prices. I am travelling OS so am shopping duty free. I compared the prices here with those at the Sydney Terminal duty free shop and here was so much cheaper.

It was cheaper to buy from digiDirect and pay full price that it was to buy at the airport duty free shop. Of course, I can now claim back the GST when I travel in a fortnight.

After I claim back my duty, I will be paying $342.65 instead of the $399 duty free price at the airport.

The shop itself does not carry a huge range but they can get in just about anything you want if you ask and you can shop on line if you wish. The staff were both knowledgeable and helpful and I am still surprised by the price difference when I had always expected duty free to be cheaper than retail. I wont fall for that again!

Luddys is a proper, old fashioned cake shop and sells the sort of cakes you might find in a country town and pretend that you made yourself. They are so much fresher and tastier than the mass produced alternatives sold by some of the big chains.

They also make and sell a large range of pies which are particularly delicious and really good value.

This is where I buy all the birthday cakes for work and my family and we are never disappointed.

Never-the-less, the range of plants is extensive. Philip, the owner operator has the most expansive and detailed knowledge of native plants that I have ever encountered.

Because it is a one man show, some of the plants look a little unloved but I have never lost a plant that I have bought from there, possibly because they are sun hardened and already tough.

Prices a average but the range is extensive. The nursery is only open on Saturday between 9am and 1pm and if Philip is away for any reason, the nursery is attended by his very sweet and very old mother. Her knowledge of plants is not as great as his, so my advice is to email Philip beforehand if you don't know exactly what you want to buy.

A great local business and one I enjoy supporting.

This shop is worth visiting even if all you do is step inside and enjoy the heady smell of traditionally cured meats. Once you are there, it's unlikely that you will leave without buying something.

This small, family owned butcher specializes in traditionally cured meats and sausages. It also carries a full range of meat and meat cuts, but it is the European and German inspired range that brings customers from all over Sydney.

The whole shop is a treat for the senses.

Some of the deals available via this site are remarkable.

The trick is to only buy what you really need, rather than being seduced by a great bargain - and there are plenty.

I have bought a range of things and services, from cup cakes, to massages and carpet cleaning and have never been disappointed.

You can also buy gifts vouchers, and they make really good presents.

I think this might be better than some public hospital! The facilities are first rate and the vet's, nursing and admin staff are lovely.

At the core of this hospital is a family, who over time has surrounded itself with lovely, caring staff.

I use them for all my veterinary needs. I have also taken some injured wildlife there as they are closely associated with some of the local animal rescue organisations and will treat wildlife for free.

Really nice and gentle people.

This is where I go when my back goes out or my shoulder hurts.

The practice offers a choice of physiotherapists, a podiatrist and even a sports physician. It is a large, well equiped and professionally run business that offers a wide range of treatments.

So far, Dr Annett and physio Adam Bland have always managed to put me back together.

This is one of the best regional galleries in Australia. The large exhibition space always has something wonderful to see, and these exhibits change regularly. The smaller community gallery offers pieces for sale and many a great find is available.

The gardens are fabulous and the range of classes available in the well equiped studios is inspiring.

Entry into the exhibits is free but the prices in the cafe, shop and class fess are quite high.

My advice is, go and enjoy the exhibits but take a sandwich and a thermos and have a picnic under a tree of by the pond.

I am lucky enough to own a few of Caroline's pieces and love visiting her home based gallery where visitors are warmly welcomed.

Caroline is an active member of the Bundeen and Maianbar Art Trail that is held on the first Sunday of each month. It is a great day out for any art lover.

Caroline specializes in paintings, drawings and ceramic pieces.

This family run and owned business was a blessing when I recently needed to arrange my father's funeral. Fred and his staff looked after us with care and respect. They honored my father and arranged a funeral that suited both my father and us, his family.

Best of all, the price was many thousands of dollars below that of the competitors that we had also contacted, yet the funeral, casket, staff, and cars etc were fantastic. The flowers were particularly lovely and thoughtfully chosen to suit my father.

I hope it is a long time before I need to arrange another funeral, but when I do, I'll be calling them again.
