I took my fur baby who was 17 yrs old to be sent to heaven as he was extremely unwell.
I had the most traumatic experience of my life by taking him to Kirrawee Veterinary Hospital for his end-of-life experience and cremation. I would never in a million years recommend you go to this vet as it has been my hellish nightmare.
Firstly the EFTPOS machine was thrust into my face before his final moments. But yet this was not even the worst of it. I paid for him to be cremated. He was supposedly cremated the week before Xmas. I rang the vet and spoke to [redacted] a Vet nurse, after waiting 2 months to find out where he was and I was told that they couldn't locate him and he was possibly discarded with other unclaimed dogs.
I was then told that my fur baby was displaced because I hadn't let the vet know what I wanted done with him even though only 2 days later I paid and request what I wanted to be done with his remains.
Then I was later told that he was finally located with the other "Bodies" in the freezer of other unclaimed dogs and maybe it was my fault that I took too long to tell them what I wanted to do with my baby's remains. I paid and told them 2 days after his passing.
After speaking with [redacted] (the vet nurse) she told me that he would be sent off for cremation 2 months later.
That night I cried my eyes out about what had happened to my fur baby and I worried about how he had been treated.
I sent [redacted] an email and then she rang me the next day and said that she expected my response and thought that I should have been angrier as she thought I was too calm when I spoke to her the previous day. Of course, I was calm I was in total shock that I was going through this and Kirrawee Vet didn't seem to think it was an issue.
I told her I didn't trust and told her that I wanted to ID my pets body. I didn't want someone elses dog coming home to my home.
She rang me back and said his body was already sent for cremation and if I wanted to ID him I had to let her know ASAP as he would be defrosted. (Now this was getting worse and worse). She said he was already sent to Pet Rest. I was given a number to ring and the lovely man at Pet Rest said that my dog was sent to Parramatta and he was in Mona Vale. A lovely lady from Pet Rest rang me to ID him. My dog was incontinent and at the time of his passing, he was wearing a nappy. Kirrawee Vet told me that they would remove it and thankfully they didn't as this was the only way that I knew that he was correctly identified. The lady told me that he was a little white dog and I said "Yes" I am sure that you get many little white dogs. My baby was a PugxMaltese and yes he was white. The only thing that let me know that it was him was because Kirrawee Vet left his nappy on him. The lady at Pet Rest said he had a white piece of material with orange things on it. His nappy had little orange ducklings on it that let me finally know that they had the correct dog. If it wasn't for them leaving him in his nappy I would never have known that I truly had the right dog.
On 10/2/2023 [redacted] "Promised" me she would ring me and let me know when my little boy would return home to us. Of course, she did not. On 28/3/2023 I rang Kirrawee Vet yet again and found out that he was returned and I could pick him up.
I am so angry, disappointed, and brokenhearted that our family has gone through this most disgusting experience.
I did finally speak with the practice manager who apologized. but to be honest this is not enough. Kirrawee Vet seems to be more concerned about making money than they are concerned about your pet. Our end-of-life experience of a four-legged fur baby is a horror story that I hope to never experience again and I hope other families do not have to go through. He may have been just a dog to them, but he was a family member of 17 years who was deeply loved. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I returned to this vet , since I moved back to the shire, I took my 2 cats for a check up and vac needles, and I was concerned about the weight of one.

I was early, and in a empty waiting room, had to wait about 10-15 mins.
I got called in by a female vet, she seemed to be in a rush, we all went in, I explained about the needles and check up, while she was checking one cat, and giving the booster needle, I told her i was worried about the weight loss of 1 cat, WITHOUT even looking up at me , she said" Its $200 for a blood test, each , its the only way we can see if the cat was sick, ( i have no issue with the cost). I said fine I will get him the blood test just to make sure he was ok".

The vet had checked both cats, given them boosters and then took blood from the sick one, in under 15 mins, she would call with the test results, but if no call by Thursday (IT WAS MONDAY) to call the clinic.

I walked out to the counter to pay, the bill was over $600 dollars for
2 x consult and health check ,
2 x booster needles and
1 x blood test.

I felt no love or care from the vet, for me or my animals (you think it would be a occupation requirement),

I understand about being upfront about costs, they can be high, [redacted inflammatory comment], No bedside manner for animals or the owners, I have never disliked a vet in my life.

So Thursday came around, I missed her call so called back, later that day, I was told by admin or whoever answered the phone, that the vet was busy and cant tell me results, I asked if they could or any other vet, atleast 4-7 vets work there, and I got a quick "yeah red blood count is slightly elevated, but all in range".

So no concerns, but we can do another test $200 per test i was told again, I declined the second test in 2 days, due to no issues from first test.
I have had 3 animals, over the years come to this vet and after this experience, I will never take my animals back again, i HATE TO SAY IT BUT, NO LOVE, NO CARE, JUST $COSTS AND NO BEDSIDE MANNER.

I know human doctors can be cold but a vet, who doesnt care is a horrible thing .
I would never recommended this vet ever again, sadly.

I think this might be better than some public hospital! The facilities are first rate and the vet's, nursing and admin staff are lovely.

At the core of this hospital is a family, who over time has surrounded itself with lovely, caring staff.

I use them for all my veterinary needs. I have also taken some injured wildlife there as they are closely associated with some of the local animal rescue organisations and will treat wildlife for free.

Really nice and gentle people.

They are great there, really caring and kind. They truly take in interest in your pet and will advise and do a great job ensuring that your pet has a quality of life it deserves. And even when the time comes to say goodbye, they show such compassion and care for both the pet and the grieving family.

A big vet practice. Great website which drew me there in the first place. Very expensive, but I guess most vets are.... Service was officious but not overly warm. Jury's still out as to whether this will become our regular vet.

This has been our family's vet for the past 30 years, and we have always found the service / care to be the best . The vet nurses are friendly and usually remember your & pets' name, the appoints generally run to time. The surgery is always bright and clean.

Approximate cost: $$$

Every time I take my dog here I am impressed. The vets and nurses are all very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and they normally have appointments available on the day you ring. When my previous dog was very sick and dying the vet was very understanding and compassionate. She understood how important he was to our family. They have a 24 hour in-house hospital service and a 24 hour live in vet for emergencies.
