The take away food from here is quick and tasty. The staff are always friendly and courteous with the food always being fresh. You can see how everything is cooked so there's never any doubts about whether the shop is clean.

Worth a trip to Lobethal for. Authentic German patisserie, lots of breads to choose from, fantastic hot pastries, downside being that I never leave without spending about $40 especially if the kids are with me. Home made gelati/ice cream from fresh seasonal fruit like raspberries, apples, mango, etc and even a Ferro Rocher flavour. Very small building though, thank goodness they've got a huge carpark next door. Have seen tourist buses stop here so quite a landmark! Also seen a story on Postcards and owner is German. Very family orientated business which is probably why they're closed on Sundays.

Fantastic range of smallgoods. Kids love going in and getting their various favourite bits. Friendly counter staff.

The guys at Maylands are always friendly and really helpful when choosing paints and equipment. The quality of Solver paints is better than anything else I've used. In some cases when repainting walls I've only had to use one coat as it covers so well. They're great with decorating advice as well.

We wanted to pick up some takeaway for the trip home. We hadn't been to a Fasta Pasta for a few years and thought they'd all be the same (having frequented the one at Burnside). However we were really disappointed to find that the pasta used was not fresh pasta but the packet pasta and the sauce very thin and mainly cream with very little of the other ingredients. Tasted horrid. I'd assumed all franchises prepared food the same way so very disappointed.

Nursery has a lovely selection of plants. Downside is that this nursery is very expensive however you pay more for the experience. Lovely displays of camellias and cafe is a lovely place to take friends for coffee or lunch with nice atmosphere. Nice place to incorporate into a day trip up into the Adelaide Hills.

We approached Farmweld when looking for a small old style farm gate for our garden. The customer service was friendly and these people bent over backwards to help us out. They spent quite a bit of time helping us work out which design would fit and work with our landscaping and had some beautiful wrought iron. I initially thought they were a bit pricey but when I got the finished gate the workmanship was excellent and it was alot stronger than I expected so it's definitely value for money. Our gate and garden arch have been made to last for years. Not surprisingly they get orders from all around Australia. I'll be back for my wrought iron pieces next.

Atmosphere is lovely and staff very friendly. The meals leave alot to be desired - not much salad, dressing very vinegary, quality of cooking under par as well as size of meal. Have eaten here a number of times over the last 4 years and food portions have decreased and quality isn't much better. I suspect only a cook, not chef as meals very basic and 'fried'. If the food quality picked up this pub has the potential to boom with the tourist market available. Take away meals also available but very overpriced for poor quality.
