Have stayed there twice over the past year and loved it both times. Was a little concerned before my first stay as I'd never been to a backpackers but it surpassed my expectations! Very clean and fun environment, lots of separate and private toilets/showers, keycard access to everything, rooms rather spacious, different 'entertainment' on each floor (gym, theatre, rooftop area, etc).

Great little bakery just off South Road. Friendly staff and the food is freshly cooked and very delicious - custard Berliner's are especially yum! May pass you by if you're just driving past on South Road, but there are a range of other shops in the shopping strip off the road.

Heaps of available pool tables, staff are very relaxed and friendly. Drinks are very well priced, especially on Wednesday nights when spirits are $3 each.

Great little shop in Marion - always has a huge range of fashions in stock (more than you would think at first look), usually at a quite reasonable price too. The stock is updated regularly and the staff are really pleasant.

Great store on the Parade - massive range of ice creams and products to 'mix in' with it! Never gets old because there's always a new combination to try out. No matter how odd the choices of mixes seem to be, it always manages to taste great! It can be a bit pricey, but since its a 'treat' kind of experience it's definitely worth it!

Best pizza store I've ever been to! Amazing tasting pizzas from this little pizzeria in Eden Hills. They offer a good range of flavours and many different sizes, my only complaint would be that its somewhat expensive for the smaller pizza's - not that it's an issue very often since I usually find that many people want some so the bigger party size Pizza is usually got!

Great bar on King William Street - really good cocktails! (Also offer quite a few half price cocktail nights each week). Seating outside on the street, or in the neat beer garden out back. The front bar is cramped but has a great atmosphere, and theres another seating room where the bands play - complete with a fire place! There's also some old school arcade machines out back.

Nice large shop with a huge range of new age goods. A great collection of crystals and lovely crystal jewelery being sold as well. A big wall of books, all categorized in a good mix of topics. Lots of candles, incense and various other needs. The staff have been happy to help me track down obscure products several times.
They also run quite a few courses here (such as certificate IV in counseling) which they show details about on their website. Good prices too.

Great little shop - although tiny it has HEAPS of stock needed for Cake Decorating. You can email them and send in an order of what it is you're after (on their website) and they'll have it all ready for you really quickly. My supplier of choice.

Small New Age shop in the City Centre, with a heap of new agey goods. Lots of jewelery, incense, herbs, a good selection of books, tarot cards and statues. If you're looking for anything in particular the staff are always happy to help (even if you only have a vague idea of what it is your looking for!) and I've had many things ordered in from them very quickly! And being a small store, you find that there are a lot of friendly 'regulars' who you meet frequently.
