I attended one of Steve's training sessions on managing your business. I found it extremely practical. It made you think more deeply about aspects of my business that you tend to gloss over. It was specific to my needs. The course covered marketing, accounting, personnel management, sales, succession planning and working collaboratively with other like minded business. The interaction the course provided with other small businesses was exceptional. I learned lots of valuable strategies and alternative methods to cope with both good and bad business times. I would definitely recommend the many courses run by PK to any business. I now have a sound business plan, get feedback often and am constantly improving my business. It has made me feel more confident of my abilities as a salesperson, a keeper of books, a staff co-ordinator and how to work with like minded businesses to improve profitability and sales. It would be great if all small businesses were exposed to what I was exposed to in Steve's course. I get regular follow up email blogs from Steve from his web site which I read with relish on a Monday morning before I start work.

I employed Heather (from a business referral) to help set up our MYOB software for our small business. She came to our office in Ormeau and impressed me with her in-depth MYOB knowledge (has been an MYOB Certified Consultant since 1994) and her accounting and teaching background. Her quiet efficient manner made me feel special about the work I do in the business (bean counter). She showed me how to customise MYOB for our specific needs based upon our service industry. Although MYOB is easy to use you don't have to use all its features so Heather showed me how to turn these unwanted features off. Heather provided telephone support when I got into trouble and was able to come back when we needed her to to further customise our accounts. She certainly knows her stuff and made me feel special. I am almost an independent user now but still rely on Heather to back me up occasionally and show me advanced stuff that MYOB can do now that our business has grown. One hour of her time is equivalent to many hours of frustration trying to nut out a problem. My friend attended a training college to do the same thing and found that Heather was the teacher. I told her she should have got Heather to come direct in to her office so that she would have had access to important and familiar documents close by rather than expecting to be taught generalities about MYOB and then try to apply them later in her bookkeeping work. It just does not work. I would recommend Heather to any and every small business in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. This is exactly how training SHOULD be done. I asked for a complete retrofit of my house, garden and pool to replace existing traditional lights with LED replacements. I was referred to Alpha LED Lighting by the maintenance manager of a large local resort who also completely refitted their facilities in order to save money. I was not disappointed - the service was fantastic and we are now saving heaps of money daily - the project will pay for itself within the first 12 motnhs. Everything is now computerised and automated plus its all 12volts rather than 240volts. Why did I leave it so long? Should have done it a year ago. Well done to Daryl and the boys at Alpha LED Lighting.
