This review is for Waikerie bakery, Waikerie SA

Stopping into Waikeire on the way home from Mildura, I was starving and did a lap of the town to see what there was available. I saw a couple of bakeries, but this one was the busiest, which in a small town usually is a good thing. I ordered a plain meat pie and a bacon and cheese sausage roll to take away. The service was fine. Not overfriendly but not bad either. I paid what I though was an average price for my food. I started eating my sausage roll as I continued my drive and I noticed that it was very full of meat, larger than other sausage rolls I've had too. I also noticed a lot of bacon pieces and it was very tasty. Next I attacked the pie. It felt very heavy, and when I bit into it, I realized why. Waikerie Bakery don't seem to skimp on fillings. It was very full of a lot of mincey goodness. Good quality meat too, no gristle. After finishing it off, I actually thought that I could have paid 50cents more and would have still been satisfied and impressed with my purchases. Will definitely pop back in on my next roadtrip.

This place only opened up last week and I was eager to try out another 'burger place' in Adelaide. They are actually more than just a burger place with take away salads and cakes from the counter cabinets. Maybe think of it as a kinda gourmet take away. They also do hot dogs and fish and chips amongst others (menu available online). I ordered their signature "Esculent' burger and it was very tasty indeed. The meat patty was definitely not bought in and was very very juice as well as delicious. If you live in the area (or are visiting, or heck, just want to go for a drive), I would recommend you give this place a try!

This review is for Cliff Ave Restaurant And Pizza Bar, Port Noarlunga South SA

I have only eaten in, at the Restaurant so can't comment on the pizza bar next door but...YUM. Being down Cliff Avenue on the street with a few shops around, I admit this wouldn't be the first place you would think of when someone says 'lets go out for dinner' but it could definitely be a good choice. The menu had a good selection of Australian favorites: Pizza, Pasta, Schnitzels, Steak and my favourite WEDGES! It sounds lame but I love a place that serves wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli (even if I don't eat the sweet chilli). There was also a specials board with a few main choices plus desserts. I ordered wedges to start and chicken schnitzel for main. The service was prompt and friendly. There are plenty of inside tables and some outside as well (for when the weathers nice). I don't drink, but there was a full bar available. My wedges came out pretty darn quick and a little later the main. The schnitzel was very big. Not an entire plate filler but pretty close, it was served with chips and salad (or choice of veg). All up I really enjoyed my visit to Port Noarlunga South and this restaurant. Like another reviewer said, it's not the cheapest and it's not the dearest. It's somewhere in between. The food is tasty and the décor is pleasant. If I was in the area, I would certainly go back.

I took a friend who's a mum with her bub for something to eat here last week. We arrived just before the 11:30 cut off for breakfast so both ordered egg dishes and coffees. The menus are cute, being printed inside old, gutted, Little Golden Books. There was a cake fridge at the counter with sweet and savoury treats, including quite a variety of vegan and raw vegan choices. The place it's self used to be an old deli that has been 'done up' inside. Lots of places to sit and chat if that's your thing, though I noticed quite a few people just getting take away coffee. Our coffees came out first, followed quickly by our eggs. The coffees were of the smaller than average variety but nice and served at the correct temp. The eggs were ok, not the best, not the worst. I had a Mr Benny with smoked salmon which was served on top of two long thin pieces of bread (think French stick sliced long ways) inside a bowl which didn't really make getting a fork full of bread, eggs and sauce too easy. I would just say average to good, next time I will stick to coffee and try one of the interesting cakes. The café it's self was full of mums and mums with kids when we were there. There is a small kids corner with an old mini school desk with paper and pencils as well as some toys. There are some pieces of art for sale and a selection of kids clothing and toys displayed to buy as well as some jewelry. With a primary school close by I can see why this would be a popular place for mums to meet after the morning school drop off, but that's not to say it's exclusively a 'mums' café, in fact from their web site, they say they sometimes do cooking classes too. It's in a quiet residential area which pakes it easy to get to and park.

After being told that I would be immobile for a 8 week period after tearing my Achillies, my physio organized for me to rent some mobility aides from another supplier near my home. When I arrived at the other supplier, they refused to help me and offered no help or solution to my situation! I went home and searched the web and found WowSA. I gave them a call in the morning and they wouldn't have been more helpful! I drove over to Plympton Park straight away as it was my last day of being able to walk. The item I needed was already rented but they opened a brand new one (meant for sale) and let me rent that without hesitation. The gentleman set it up just for me and my height and let me try it out in the showroom. They gave me a catalogue and said that if I need any more equipment I could just call them up and they could drop it off at my home (They have all manner of wheelchairs, walking sticks, chairs, frames and mobility scooters). Outstanding customer service and a great experience. They actually made the following 8 weeks bearable/manageable and I thank them for that. Returning it was also a hassle free 2 minute experience.

I ordered for the first time for home delivery a few months back. I was totally stunned that it was delivered in under 25 minutes! Perhaps just lucky??? My mum and I shared a main course as well as naans, entrees and a desert. All the food was hot and fresh and all bar the vegetarian pukkora type things were very flavoursome. The pukkoras were just veges in a batter, not much flavor but they tasted better with one of the supplied sauces. The carrot based dessert was to die for! It was a little pricier that what I would normally spend on takeaway (but mum was paying). I would certainly order for them again, but not on a once a week basis purely due to cost. The menu was pretty varied so there would be something new to try next time.

This review is for Fancy Burger, Kensington Park SA

Living in Kensington Park, I was excited last year to finally be able to try Fancy Burger for the first time after excellent reviews from workmates. I've been to this location 4 times now, earning free chips and dip on the last visit with their loyalty card. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food comes out quick enough considering it's freshly made. I have tried the crispy bacon, vegetarian, sunrise and I think it's called Chicken Delight (it's the one with Avocado). All were delicious, they were juicy and flavoursome. I probably wouldn't buy the vege one again, simply because the meat options are in my opinion better. The herb sauce is fantastic, especially as a dip for your chips. I've never had a hard bun, though you would be disappointed if you were expecting a super soft McD's cheeseburger bun as they use bakery bread rolls. Both the burgers and chips are best eaten straight away to get the most out of the experience, though I've taken home a crispy bacon burger to have later and it was fine, not too soggy. I really enjoy eating at Fancy Burger. Their menu is available on their web site and you can phone order ahead too. There is limited parking behind the store accessed via Magill Rd. There is indoor and outdoor seating available.
