I attended as a member of a group of 20. We pre-ordered beforehand, in an attempt to assist the kitchen staff manage our order. We were shunted into a corporate-boardroom style area of the pub that was entirely devoid of any atmosphere whatsoever. The "dining furniture" was cheap, corporate style desks.
I ordered "grilled chicken". I thought they must have brought me the wrong order. What I was served looked nothing like it had ever been a chicken. "Chicken in a tube" came to mind. There was no accompanying sauce to even attempt to disguise the poor excuse for "grilled chicken". The accompanying vegetables somehow replaced (rather than supplemented) the lentils that were described on the menu. The vegetables were not fresh, tasmanian produce or if they were, they were deep fried beyond recognition (or any nutritional value). For the princely sum of $26.00, I was quite horrified with what was being served up. I was a regular a few years ago and had looked forward to this group event. I was sorely disappointed and regret to give such a scathing review. Yuck.

I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service the first time I went to Sfumato. The experience was excellent and as a result it has become my new salon. Compared to mainland prices and services, Sfumato is a bargain. Under $70 for a ladies cut including wash (with devine head massage) and complimentary coffee (real coffee) and chocolate. Sometimes run a bit late, but with a free coffee and massage, can't complain.

Fantastic lunch pitas and soup. Food always super fresh and consistently friendly service. Coffee reliable excellent. My go-to if ever I have to buy coffee or lunch in Hobart. Eclectic staff which I really appreciate too.

I saw the production of 8 Women last week. Very impressed. Solid performances by entire cast, beautiful production and the venue itself is a delight. We are so very lucky to have this theatre venue. What a fabulous way to spend a beautiful Hobart Summer evening (or any evening for that matter!)!
