Based on other reviews on this site I gave sfumato a go, my lovely hairdresser just having moved to Melbourne. I wanted the hairdresser to recommend a style which she declined to do, and when I decided on something she kind of cut it. I was not happy, it was badly cut and unflattering. I went back for a recut which they were very gracious about, but whereas the first time she had listened to me too much perhaps, this time she did not want to do what I wanted her to do to fix the cut. She didn't look at the picture I had found of what I wanted and did a bit of what I asked for but missed most of it. I have not had someone misunderstand me about my hair so badly in years. I wanted a cute flippy cut and have come out with a helmet. This was my first time at the salon, so I don't know what other stylists are like, but I won't be going back I don't think.

As a 1st time customer, I will definitely be back! I was promptly greeted upon arrival, had a seat, and was offered a coffee. The stylist was friendly, listened to what I wanted, and gave great suggestions on what to do with my hair. I was very happy with how my cut turned out.

Very professional, lovely stylists, not the cheapest around but certainly value for money. Totally recommended if you are looking for top quality service and stylists who love their profession and take notice of what you want.

Highly professional service.....top of the range products and hairdressers are really experienced. It is no cheap, but definitely worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service the first time I went to Sfumato. The experience was excellent and as a result it has become my new salon. Compared to mainland prices and services, Sfumato is a bargain. Under $70 for a ladies cut including wash (with devine head massage) and complimentary coffee (real coffee) and chocolate. Sometimes run a bit late, but with a free coffee and massage, can't complain.

Sfumato is at the "cutting" edge of whats happening with hair. As soon as you you walk in you feel relaxed and ready to let them do their work. The whole crew is highly professional and amazingly well trained. And the best part is not only can they offer you great advice, but they actually listen to what you want. I had a full re-style and absolutely adored it!

Sfumato hair offer very professional service and the staff are very friendly. They do top notch cuts, styles and colours. They are at the higher end of the price sprectrum, but I think it's worth paying that little bit extra to get the best service. It can be hard sometimes, like just before Christmas, to get an appointment, so book early :)
