This review is for Stanley Seaview Inn, Stanley TAS

We spent the weekend in Stanley, Tasmania, and booked into the Stanley Seaview Inn - and we are positive it is the best accommodation location in Stanley! It's set up on a hill just 5 minutes drive from the city centre, so it's really private. The staff were very friendly and obliging, and we were fortunate to have a room on the next level up, with a perfect view of "The Nut" - straight out from our window and balcony!! It was so relaxing just sitting on the balcony and looking out at the magnificent views of the ocean, The Nut, and down over the town. Such a pretty place, and such a quaint little town. At the time the dining room at The Seaview wasn't operating, but there are so many restaurants etc to choose from in the town that it didn't matter at all. The weather was perfect, which added to the extremely enjoyable experience, but even if the weather made you stay indoors, it would have been the best place to be sitting and admiring the views, as well as enjoying the peacefulness of the surroundings. We'lll be going back for sure!

A great experience each time I've visited this store/ cafe. They have a wide range of music - CD's, music DVD's, even vinyls! The staff are very knowledgeable and will go out of their way to source hard to find items. They are very friendly and extremely helpful. I've requested music documentaries I've seen on TV, and they've always found them for me. They also have a great selection of light breakfast/ lunch/ afternoon tea choices. I love their wraps and salad rolls for lunch, and their variety of delicious treats - and they make a good coffee. I try and visit this delightful cafe/ music shop as often as I can, even just for their good coffee, while listening to great music. The best part is, they're open all week!

This review is for Gumtree, Sydney NSW

Most people would by now have heard of Gumtree, the online free advertising website. It is nationwide, but I am writing about the Tasmanian website, as that's the one I've been using. What a fantastic service! I have bought a number of new and secondhand items, from household goods to craft (even found a knitting machine, which I've learned to use!), to valuable services such as firewood. We advertised our daughter's car for sale on Gumtree when she left (it doesn't cost anything to advertise), and by that afternoon people had come to look at it, and she was very happy with the sale. She even bought a car through Gumtree when she settled in WA. Every year we compare firewood for sale in the area and choose what suits us - and have it delivered! We've just had a load of firewood delivered, after ringing up last night, so we're all set again for any more cold weather! A great community service, with a huge range of categories, including employment. I was very excited when I found out about Gumtree, and have been a regular user.

If you want to know anything about how honey is produced, this is the place to go! I was intrigued by the live beehive behind glass, and watching the bees travelling from outside, through a chute to the beehive - and everything that happens inside the hive! They have detailed explanations of every aspect of the production of honey, and you can follow all the action by watching it happen. They also have clear, detailed charts of all the products that the bees make. And in the shop they have fitted in the most amazing variety of honey produce - from beeswax candles to 50 varieties of honey (with plenty of free tastings), to ice creams to skin care products. I spent ages watching and learning, tasting interesting blends of honey, trying various skin care products - and left with a variety of goodies, including a delicious honey ice cream! A great place for families - so much to learn, see and enjoy. They open Sunday - Friday, closed on Saturdays. And they reopen after the winter break, on Sunday 17th August 2014. I guarantee you will enjoy the experience.

This little cafe is a great place to catch up for lunches and even dinners. You can even enjoy an alcoholic drink with your meal. I love their seafood menu (can't go past the crispy skin Atlantic salmon) and crispy chips. They also make delicious gourmet pies, and have a children's menu. They cater for families, and have a great play area for children. I've enjoyed light lunches with friends, as well as fine dining at night. You can also just drop in for a coffee and tasty treats - they have a wide selection of delicious cakes to tempt you.

This review is for Barrats Music, Launceston TAS

I've been visiting Barratts for many years now, either buying or just browsing. They have a huge range of instruments as well as music books for a wide variety of instruments. They also have vocal/ choir music. They are a family business and are extremely dedicated and helpful - and obviously love their business. They are never pushy, and seem to know when to come over to offer help or to just let you browse. They have often gone out of their way to look up information on their computer for me, which has been very helpful. The staff have an extensive knowledge of musical instruments and love of music, and the service is always excellent. If you have a musical instrument which needs servicing or repairing, Barratts will do it for you. I have often bought gift vouchers for friends, as they offer something for anyone interested in music.

We always get our car batteries from this place - the service is exceptional; they test and fit your car battery for free, and have always been very friendly and obliging. I'd recommend them any time.

A great place for catching up with friends - they are open all week for breakfast and lunch. They are also fully licenced, so you can enjoy a glass of wine with your meal. The meals are varied and very tasty, and they cater for vegetarian as well as meat lovers, and have a variety to choose from for a light lunch. I enjoy their Moroccan lamb. In summer you can dine outside as well, and the atmosphere is always friendly and casual. A fun place for a light meal. They also cater for functions, and I attended a staff cocktail function with finger food once; however, on that occasion there was not much food served. Other than that, I've always enjoyed their breakfasts and lunches.

Approximate cost: $Approx $17

This little cafe in the middle of Longford offers great quality, wholesome, old fashioned meals which are always delicious - and the service is always personal and friendly. I've found it hard to go past their roast chicken, and love their old fashioned desserts as well. They also have pizzas, which can be delivered locally. A cosy atmosphere if dining in a group, but make sure to ring and book beforehand as it is a popular place, with not many tables. I'd recommend it to anyone who is not after fancy meals, but delicious old fashioned cooking. Love it!!

An experience with a difference! Here you can follow the life cycle of the silkworm, from egg to grub, through to moth. Watch them eating mulberry leaves - and watch the process of silk being produced. You can handle the cocoons and the raw silk. Admire the quantities of beautiful hand dyed raw silk, and of course, the exquisite silk products on sale. I found it a fascinating experience. And to top it off, they have a wide range of the the most delicious handmade fudge for sale (and for sampling!). A delightful stop off when travelling through North West Tasmania.
