A good place to go for quick, tasty pasta dishes. The staff are really friendly, and the service is good. The fettucini carbonara is really tasty, but I also enjoy the spinach and ricotta ravioli with the creamy mushroom sauce. Yum. You can eat in or take away - and they are good sized serves. If you like, you can also just have a coffee, and try some of their delicious sweet dishes and gelati.

What an exciting shop to visit if you're interested in home brewing of any kind! It's not a very big space but it's filled to capacity with just about any home brewing kit you could imagine! From beers and wines to liqueurs and spirits. They also sell books on "how to" - very exciting. As a surprising bonus you can even buy cheese making kits! They also sell various types of stills - my next purchase is going to be a still for turning my backyard herbs into essential oils, a project I've been wanting to do for years! I've bought various wine making ingredients over the years, and always spend more time than I should browsing through the shop. A must for any home brewing enthusiast!

We called in to the Stanley Hotel initially to get out of the rough weather and have a drink, but ended up staying longer than anticipated! The staff were really friendly, the place was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was great. We loved looking at the old photographs on the walls, and even decided to stay for tea - and had a delicious meal of fresh fish and chips, and what a large serve! I'd recommend a visit to the Stanley Hotel any time. We found out the rooms were very reasonably priced, and next time we visit Stanley we'll definitely be staying at the Hotel. Great value.

We called in to the Swingin' Anchor Cafe just for a coffee, but the variety of cakes, pies etc was too tempting to resist. I had a delicious chocolate caramel slice, and my husband had a tasty lamb and veg pie. They served a good coffee, and I had a large pot of tea. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the cafe had a warm, welcoming feeling. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning tea, and next time we'll be looking forward to trying their tempting lunch menu. Great service.

What a find! This would have to be the freshest, tastiest takeaway fish and chips I've ever eaten! Their motto is "From our fleet to you" - and they certainly deliver. They have 8 fleets, and live tanks ensure supply fresh seafood all year. They have a variety of the freshest fish. I had pink ling, which was full of flavour and well cooked, and obviously really fresh. The staff were very friendly. They also have a restaurant upstairs, with fine dining. I'll have to go there next time we're in Stanley.

This review is for Stanley Seaquarium, Stanley TAS

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience through the Seaquarium. There was so much to see, and you can get up close to each of the sections of sea creatures, through a viewing glass on each section. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly - we were told to call out if we wanted to know anything, which we did, and were explained to in detail about anything we wanted to know. The lady who helped us went out of her way to give us extra information about the different fish/ sea creatures. She even obliged us by feeding the octopus who was guarding her eggs in her 'home' in order to lure her partly out so we could see her eggs - which she did! And we could see the eggs hanging from the top and round the edge, on the inside. It was pretty exciting. Cooked crayfish in season, as well as frozen seafood, can be purchased from the Seaquarium. They have a lovely gift shop, with a variety of interesting items to browse through. I highly recommend the Seaquarium when travelling through Stanley - you won't be disappointed.

This review is for Moby Dick's Breakfast Bar, Stanley TAS

We recently spent a weekend in Stanley, and ate out each night. We discovered Moby Dick's Breakfast Bar (open from 7.30am - 12.00pm) which specialised in breakfasts! We were surprised to see the prices of the meals on offer - very reasonable. They had a range of meals on offer - from pancakes, waffles and muffins, through omelettes to large combinations. I chose scrambled eggs, while my husband had the lot, a combination of bacon, eggs, sausages, tomato and sautéed mushrooms on toast. The meals were large and delicious - not fancy: what you ordered was what you got - no frills. To top it off we had a large pot of tea, and it gave us a great start to the day. The staff were extremely friendly, and there was a really relaxed, family feel to the place. So for a basic, filling and delicious breakfast we recommend Moby Dick's any day.

This cafe offers magnificent meals, and extremely friendly and attentive waitresses. We shared an entree of beef and vegetable soup - a delicious, hearty meal full of flavour, and a very good sized serve. For mains I had chicken, prawns and mushrooms in a creamy garlic sauce (what a delicious combination that was!), served with local, in season vegetables. It was a very large serve and the quality was excellent. They had a very tempting variety of desserts, but I could not fit a dessert in, after the amazing meal! My husband had pork with honey and ginger, also a very delicious combination of flavours, served with a variety of vegetables. This too was a very good sized serve, filled with flavour. Next time I think I'll have an entree in order to have dessert as well! We'd encourage anyone visiting Stanley to try the meals at the Touchwood Cafe.

This review is for House of Anvers, Latrobe TAS

I had lunch at the "House of Anvers" today - and what a taste sensation! They make the most delectable Belgian chocolates, and you can view the process, and can try the results in their "Tasting Room"!! They also have a very varied menu, including cheese platters (which we had), as well as a variety of seafood/ meat/ vegetarian platters. The cheese platter consisted of a variety of Tasmanian cheeses - very tasty. Also - get this! - they have a variety of chocolate platters with the most amazing choices of the most melt-in-the-mouth chocolates. We had large mugs of delicious, decadent hot chocolate - their specialty. I tried the Aztec chilli spiced hot chocolate - wonderful! Just a hint of chilli, with pieces of chocolate floating on top of the drink. Well worth a visit!

This review is for The Quiet Cone, Latrobe TAS

I've just spent a very relaxing weekend with a group of friends at The Quiet Cone, and have had an amazing experience. They have a pyramid shaped room with gongs and 'singing bowls' which resonate right through you. You can book into their daily gonging sessions, which go for about an hour - you lie on a very comfy mat with your eyes shut, and you are taken through a relaxation session with a difference! The gongs are sounded at very different pitches and intervals, and you feel deeply relaxed. A wonderful experience. They also have large, comfortable self contained rooms, and provide breakfast which you prepare yourself in your room at your leisure. A wonderful light lunch was provided at a very reasonable cost - and all dietary requirements were taken into account. Also on site is a retail outlet full of 'singing bowls' to try out, various gemstones, books etc for browsing through. A very interesting and varied selection of gifts to choose from. Something for everyone. I highly recommend a stay at The Quiet Cone. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and obliging.
