Best grocery in Australia, with Deli section most other stores dream about, and really good meat and fish. Don't go there for a quick in-and-out shopping raid, though. It's like Disneyland-with-checkout-chicks, and I'll guarantee you won't just leave there with what you originally intended!
Approximate cost: $on par with Woolies, but much better range.
Simple food, simply brilliantly done. One of the few places left in Australia to cook Lambs Fry & Bacon, and done better than just about anywhere else. If they did steak&kidney dishes, you wouldn't get me out of there.
Approximate cost: $13 - $23
It's a new business, only about a fortnight old. Mostly deals Turkish groceries and spices including the famous Seven Spice as used by Shane Delia on SBS, with some Lebanese and Syrian products as well. The aroma of the spices is something we just don't normally get here in Townsville. Lots of user-friendly canned goods, moderately priced, and terrific for putting a quick meal together. They have a small freezer section, wherein one can buy a kibbeh (spicy meat in a casing of bourghul wheat, shaped like a flattened pie - delicious!) big enough to feed 4 people as entree, for $8. It's easy to lose half an hour in there, just sniffing and looking. I shouldn't forget, either, that they have Turkish style sweets too, including a circular Turkish Delight wrapped in nougat, which is worth the drive out there on its own.
Approximate cost: $some items cheaper than Woolies equivalent
Fast & friendly service. Had a large picture, about 900mm by 800mm to be glass replaced. Best quote out of all received, and the easiest to deal with. Parking at rear can be a bit tricky to find, but worth it.
Approximate cost: $102
