This may be a case of caveat emptor - but it's also a cautionary tale for anyone intending to purchase from OETA. I am really disappointed by the after sales service of OETA. I purchased about $2500 worth of tiles and slate from OETA after their (at that time) helpful sales manager in the Camperdown store used my detailed architects plans to quote on the amount of tiles & slate needed for my front verandah and pathway. In good faith I accepted his advice and purchased the amount of tiles he recommended. When the tiler had finished laying the tiles I found there were an excessive amount of tiles left over - including a large number of unopened boxes. When I called the same manager to ask how I go about returning the unused boxes (about $200-$300 worth) I was told OETA did not return tiles - after some discussion he suggested a credit note, which I indicated I wouldn't use - as my renovation was completed and I had no further need for any of their product. When I'd asked to speak with the business owner - 'Henri' told me the owner was too busy to speak to me about a few square metres of unused tiles. It was certainly a different type of charm from when he sold me the tiles. I would like to add that I'm very happy with the finished product - this is a simple message for renovators out there if you intend to purchase anything from this store. Either get them to confirm in writing that OETA will refund you for unused stock - or look for an alternative source. During my renovation I was able to return to all other service providers - including other tile stores - any excess & unused stock.

Approximate cost: $2500
