This review is for Arian's Gourmet Food, Mount Hutton NSW

verified email - 08 May 2014

From 2012, I heard nothing but bad reviews and opinions about this place. From bad hygiene practices, like hair and finger nails in the food, to rude customer service. I found it strange that the only local Kebab store in Mount Hutton had very little customers. 2012 I ordered something and I thought their service was lacking. And therefore I continued my Friday night ritual at favorite Kebab place in Hamilton instead. Recently I decided to see what's what again, as I got told by a friend they had cleaned up their act. And the Kebab I ordered was brilliant. Its up there with of the other great kebab stores in Newy. They wore gloves, used utensils, and took due care on handling my food. He was friendly, and the mix kebab was $8, a meal for $13(approx). An alright price for a Kebab. If you haven't been back, because of bad reviews and word of mouth. Go check them out again. You might be surprised.

This review is for Paleo Cafe, Hamilton NSW

verified email - 04 Mar 2014

This paleo cafe has just opened in Hamilton, it has a very clean and vibrant energy to the place. I felt very relaxed whilst eating here.

Plenty of seating to bring your family and friends along.
You get a Glass & water on arrival but you have to order at the counter, this should be changed.

They sell lean healthy food and assorted drinks(smoothies, coffee and tea), at above average prices.

I had the eggs and avocado with a long black coffee.
The coffee was strong and well blended, just the way I like it.
Compared to other cafes this coffee was two or more shots stronger, absolutely beautiful.

'Eat clean, Live Lean' is their motto, and it sure does show in their serving size.
2 eggs, 2 half size slices of their own brand toast and half an avocado, $10.
If your looking for a big meal and something to fatten you up, go somewhere else or buy two of these.

The half slices of toast were to small a portion even if you're going for a lean diet. It was a seeded multigran bread of their own brand?? Let me say it wasn't my thing but it was good to try.

Pay them a visit if you want a healthy alternative meal. I will be taking my family back for another visit.

This review is for Bella Beans, Warners Bay NSW

A good little cafe hidden in the laneway, they serve average to good coffee consistently.

They have a decent sized menu with some great options and the vegetarian breaky is worth a try.

All food & drinks are reasonable priced.
The service is good for being busy most of the time.

Although they're are plenty of other cafes in the area, you should visit this one at least once.
it's not the worst in warners bay.

This review is for Cafe Tempest, Wallsend NSW

verified email - 20 Feb 2014

We wanted to try a new cafe and found cafe tempest on the main road in Wallsend.
We ordered two vegetarian breakfasts at $12.50 each which was quite good value than other places. 2 eggs, 2 toast, spinach, mushrooms, fried tomato and a hash brown. A decent size serving FTW. The mushrooms and tomato weren't burnt, and was firm on the outside with soft interior, beautifully done. The cappuccinos was average in price but they were worth it. The right mix of milk and coffee with no burnt taste.
Their menu was a good size and at a lower than average price.
You can eat in or takeaway.
Limited seats though, and this place was packed for lunch when we went.
We will be going back for a second visit.

This review is for Fia Fitnation, Sydney NSW

verified email - 09 Jan 2014

I have just completed my diploma in fitness through Fiafitnation via online which I started a year ago.
The good was, you can pay the course off by fortnightly instalments or VET help, which was convenient for me at the time as no other training provider had this. So I chose Fitnation.

The course content and delivery via their website has improved greatly and the quality is decent but there is still room for improvement, as it was a P.O.S at the beginning.

I also would have finished sooner, but with the slow responses between assignments and general Q&A emails, I had calculated a total wait time of 5 months plus.
For eg. it took 4 months to receive a reply on my exam results.

The initial service was poor, the sales consultant did not have an answer on how long to complete the course, which they have now corrected.

And the website was constantly updated and of poor design, so half the course content would be there one minute and gone the next, which was also plagued with spelling and grammar errors. It was like this for months.

A major disruption to my life.

Fiafitnations' diploma online has just started and I was one of 'guinea pigs'. I give credit to Fiafitnation they have done a marvellous job to fix the majority of the course thus far.

My recommendation is to wait awhile. Give it half a year or so, if you plan on doing a course via online and they should have worked out all the problems and then they will be a very good training company.

They have a campus course as well which has been operating for awhile longer, and I have heard good rumours about it. So it's something to consider.

This review is for Jobfind Centres Australia, Charlestown NSW

verified email - 30 Aug 2013

Job find is part of the Job Network Providers(JNP), they're here to help individuals and businesses find employees or employers.
When I was in-between jobs and studying full time on my diploma, part of my centrelink agreement was to be with a JNP.
I was on 'stream 1' which is the most limited service that they can provide, which includes access to a computer for doing resumes and looking jobs on the internet. They also had phones and newspapers and your own case worker, to 'ASSIST' you in finding work.
Job find Charlestown and Newcastle failed.
All newspapers were months out of date and were never replenished. The computers were out of the stone age, Pentium 1.66s with dial up internet...took hours to complete anything. All of this might have been suitable except that I had these services at home (which mine 100xbetter).
The worst problems lay with the case worker/s.
All they cared about was meeting their bottom line, getting you off centrelink benefits.
That's fine, except they wanted to put all my efforts into job seeking, they even suggested I should put my studies on hold or quit it. Although this qualification would set me up for F/t work later on.
They had no advice on my chosen career path as they lacked the experience. I had to explain how my industry works, qualifications, jobs etc. and how long until I can attained full time work.
They pushed and belittle me to attain full time work, I even got a part job. Which was not good enough.
3months later I had a gut-full of the disrespect, discrimination and the free ride they had.
I got rid of centrelink and them and survived on the part time job until I finished my studies and got full time employment.
Hah, Jobfind what a joke.
Go with Mission Australia if you can, I heard they half decent.

This review is for All Bar One, Newcastle NSW

verified email - 30 Aug 2013

I'm not sure if this place is still called 'All bar one' but the café Delicious can be very intermittent with their service and food.
The first time I had the best vegetarian breakfast with free range poached egg, with enormous mushrooms leak/ asparagus and toast, which was served beautifully.
The second time, I had a beef n' basil burger with chips which was terrible and filthy.
The beef was barely cooked on a low heat from frozen. Which gave it that watery pale taste, add that with basil, and too much butter/ BBQ sauce. 3 bites and I was done.
For $17 for a burger, I don't mind paying extra. BUT you'd better be on par with the quality.
The service of the 2nd visit was the reason I write this scathing review.
I'd order 2 coffees to go(takeaway) and the waitress brings it out in cups. A small error, right?.
But when the waitresses smartarse remark comes back 'Maybe you should have ordered it then' when I asked nicely to change it. Well of course that got me fired up.
A few angry words later the chef came out and solved the situation and apologised to us.

This review is for Commodore Shop Cardiff, Cardiff NSW

verified email - 25 Aug 2013

Just like every other wreckers, they provide an average range of spare parts which are slightly more expensive.

The service I got over several visits and phone calls crap
An arrogant and rude staff member.

Located in Cardiff, which is close to most suburbs in the Newcastle/lake Macquarie area they're easy to get to.

A good option if you need spare parts, but look around, there are better places.

This review is for TAFE Digital, Strathfield NSW

verified email - 25 Aug 2013

I did my open learning course through OTEN.
This was one of the worst mistake I ever made.
Discrimination is a major problem here, everytime I spoke to their staff for help on the course I was belittled and patronised. The final 'nail in the coffin' was the derogatory slurs about my age. This is when I would eventually get through, their phone service is appalling.
***OTEN has a decent range of courses and payment/delivery options BUT it's operated by blue collar slobs on a power trip which lack professionalism or pride in the service they provide***
Find another training provider, IMO.

This review is for Benny's Bistro & Catering, Waratah NSW

verified email - 25 Aug 2013

This is a great little bistro, located in the town hall hotel. It has the usual pub food, chicken schnitzel, lamb cutlets, barramundi, salads etc. But the way it's prepared and served, that makes the difference. Benny is meticulous that the food heading out has the right texture and flavour, and is never bland.
All meals cost up to $25, with daily specials.
Good for a family outing.
