Bob Stewarts in Kew has been a major supplier of school uniforms, for several generations. And it has always had a touch of the old world service: you expect to see a man with a tape measure hanging around his neck: But in fact, they really are HELPFUL. They sell fashion clothing for young people, and 'quality' clothing for older men. Everything from pyjamas to hats, socks, trousers, shirts, shoes, ... as well as the school stuff. More than that, they are open at 8 am, so you can pop in on the way to work. Very helpful, sometimes! The service doesn't mean expensive, though. Quality and value, but not expensive. I really appreciate what they offer, and you will too.

Officeworks is an excellent store for all the basics in stationery, and I mean 'all'. They have an enormous range, from pencils to laptops to coffee supplies to chairs. I find the staff are sometimes helpful and sometimes don't know their own stock. It's the luck of the draw if you find someone good. But for price, on all the basics in stationery, you can't do better. They have good specials too, so watch the catalogues in your junk mail. But as always, shop around. You get what you pay for.

The young people who run this take-away or eat in store are obviously well trained and committed to quality. They serve fish and chips, burgers, souvlaki, and salads, and my family enjoys all their products. It's fresh, and of the best quality. You can phone in an order, and it will be ready on time. Only the business name if a bit off beat. Everything else about it it impressive.

This is a no-nonsense store: it doesn't look flash, and it doesn't claim to be. But it has what you need. The people behind the counter will greet you politely, but not with that false 'have a nice day' stuff. They listen to what you need, will direct you where to look, but they also let you browse, or find what you want. Service is good, value is good, and if you need to you can go back and exchange. There's a kind of old world feel about this, which made me remember what we've lost with the big places!

Helpful staff: they listen to what you want, they suggest options, and they assist without being pushy. The range and quality of equipment is superb: from the basics, to the highest quality. They know their stuff, and they have excellent sales, several times a year. And the Summit Club loyalty program gives great discounts.
