If your looking for a clean and friendly place to stay on a budget, look no further. Small clean rooms with TV some with ensuit with an ample share kitchen and swimming pool. Pristine beaches across road through park and a short walking distance to Coolum's cafes and restaurants. The managers Chris and John are very obliging and friendly .

Stayed here for a few nights after booking off internet, and I also went by the rate which was very reasonable for Southside Brisbane. There is only 8 very aged units , the upside is it is clean. The rooms have a kitchenette with microwave and have utensils as well . I was a little annoyed that after spending a long day out that at 8.30 pm on a Sunday I had a cold shower, excuse me ,no hot water.

Approximate cost: $85

Went there on a Sunday evening and found the service attentive and thoroughly enjoyed my meal . I noticed my daughter ate all hers so that is a mark of a good bolognaise. I had the seafood linguine and it was fresh and had an assortment of seafood , one of the better ones I have had.

They offer 2 sizes in their meals , we had the regular and found it more than ample.
Enjoyed the ambience of sitting outside and would definitely recommend it. My daughter had been there before as it is close to the UNI and conveniently located at Garden City shopping center.

Called in on a Friday night on the chance there may be a single room available, and found a friendly warm welcome. The rooms are new and you get a bit of luxury in your room with a full mini bar and extra touches that make a big difference.

They also do meals to your room which seem reasonable and varied. I tried the pumpkin soup and garlic bread and I am still raving on how it was the best I have ever tasted.
Have marked them down as a must stay next I travel through to Brisbane.
The manager even walked down to my room to turn on the light for me ,very thoughtful.

Approximate cost: $140 per night

This review is for Barcaldine Motel And Cabins, Barcaldine QLD

We tried to book in to the Country Motor Inn but they were booked, the Barcaldine Motel is owned by same people and is a budget style motel across the road in the same street. Was clean and tidy ,a little old and tired, the bathroom needs renovating, but it was ok as we only slept there for 2 nights. If looking at staying at Barcaldine try to book into the Country motor inn first, judging by the rogues gallery they have in the office,it is the place to stay in town, from pollies to footballers.
The budget motel has cabins for long time stayers and a pool.
Main Street with pubs and the Tree in a Box (Tree of Knowledge) is all in walking distance.

Approximate cost: $family room $95 a night

We were staying further up the road and wanted somewhere to eat and it was recommended we try the Ironbark Motel for a steak. So glad we did, it is an open eating area and looks as if a good time is had on many a night. It is like sitting in a shed on benchs, the meals are served straight from the kitchen and you help yourself to veg/ salad . They had run out of t bones so my husband had the rump and he said it was the best he had . Next time we stay at Barcy we will stay at the motel as well .

Approximate cost: $20 to $30

What a let down after passing all the signs,we were heading back to Emerald so thought a great spot to stock up with FRESH fruit/veg.We were over charge twice, yes oranges are different to grapefruit that was $4 difference and wrong price on potatoes, new is not brushed.Didn't realize till we were too far up highway .Threw out pumpkin as it was rotten and several of the potatoes.Blood plums juicy but no flavour.the eggs certainly were not large as stated on box. I will go back to the fisho parked outside though.
