Taro Taro is one of the places we come to if we're looking for a post-dinner hang out in Vic Park. The drinks are quite nice and of a good quality, you can vary the amount of sweetness in your drink which is an excellent option. They have a wide range of savoury foods as well as Taiwanese desserts. I'm not a big fan of the Taiwanese desserts, but I've heard good reviews about the savoury food so that's something I'll be looking forward to trying next. A decent place for a casual chill out with friends.

We came here for dinner on a Friday night without making a reservation - it was a busy restaurant but staff were helpful in accommodating the three of us. We got a table not much long after and our food was served very quickly. We ordered the red roast duck curry, a pad thai, fishcakes and had a bowl of rice to go with it. The food was delicious and very tasty - the curry has just the right amount of spiciness and was very satisfying. Servings were generous and was great value for money. It was a small little restaurant with not much seating (~25-30 people I'd estimate) so it's advisable to make a booking before going. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and will definitely be back soon to try other dishes. Highly recommend this little food joint if you love good Thai food at reasonable prices!

Love coming here for the live music every once in a while, it makes for a great night out with friends. The shows have a slight tendency to start later than scheduled especially if it's the second show for the night. Be sure to come with your tummies filled and satisfied - food here is overpriced and not worth getting at all, taste-wise it is also pretty average. You are better off walking across to McDonald's opposite if you are hungry and just getting drinks here instead.

We came here while we were on a visit to Margaret River and it was a great night out. We didn't make a reservation and the restaurant was fully booked, but we were happy to grab a table at the bar. The menu was exciting and the dishes all sounded really interesting. Our food was excellent and very well-prepared, we loved all our dishes and were too full to even have dessert (we never pass up on dessert!!).

Highly recommend eating here if you're around Margaret River! Will definitely be back the next time I visit :)

This review is for Mr. Munchies Sushi, Mount Lawley WA

Mr. Munchies Sushi is a creative take on traditional sushi and has a variety of modern, interesting flavours. It is delicious and tastes fantastic - great for a fun meal shared with friends! Only downside is that the portions aren't huge and you might end up spending quite a bit if you want to leave the restaurant feeling full. Location wise it's a bit tricky to locate the first time around as it's tucked away in a little shopping arcade. But it's a great treat every once in a while and I look forward to returning soon and trying out more whimsical flavours :)

This place is heaven for chocolate lovers. I've tried the queen of hearts tasting plate, shared with a few of my friends. Delicious chocolatey goodness but I personally found it quite rich. The ice chocolate is wonderfully indulgent and the perfect treat. The place can get quite busy but it is lovely for a girly catch up.

This review is for Kitsch Bar, Leederville WA

Kitsch Bar is a hip little venue tucked away in Leederville. It has an asian theme that is clearly portrayed by the decor of the place, which is quite tastefully done. You will find asian-fusion food tapas style that is wonderfully delicious and tasty. I had the split prawns, duck san choy bao and slow roasted pork belly, shared with 2 other friends. All were excellent except for the small portions coupled with big prices - the serving sizes are disappointing considering these are meant to be shared. Good place to try out, but won't be back for a while.

This review is for The Aviary, Perth WA

The Aviary is a great rooftop bar conveniently located in the Perth CBD. It sits right above Perth Underground station, making it very easy to get to. The place is well decorated and sets the atmosphere for a nice chill-out session. I've been to the rooftop bar during the day and night, both being great experiences. The food is typical pub food meant to be shared, delicious and well-prepared. Pizzas are yummy and the fries are served with a great aioli. One pitcher of cocktail will set you back $30 - flavours are great although the pitcher is full of ice, leaving you with not much of the cocktail itself.

Great place to come if you like a good chill ambience with some good food and drink to go with it.

This review is for Old Cathay, Victoria Park WA

If you love peking duck, Old Cathay is a must-visit. They do 3 lovely courses of peking duck - peking duck skin wraps, stir-fried noodles with duck and a duck soup. DELICIOUS - we order it every time we come. They have peking duck specials on some weeknights so best check before heading down. Their other chinese dishes are also very delicious, great quality and we have never been disappointed here. The decor of the place sets the scene nicely for a chinese feast. Advisable to make reservations ahead of time. If you love chinese food, this might well become your new favourite restaurant.

I came here on a wintery Friday night with seven other friends. The restaurant was busy with people but despite this, the staff were helpful and did their best to accommodate our group. We ordered the ramen and udon, and were completely blown away by the quality and taste of our dishes. The food had authentic Japanese flavours and was absolutely delicious, perfect for the cold night. Portions were quite generous (don't be deceived by the apparent small bowl) and the prices were very reasonable. This is definitely a place I will revisit, maybe on a weekday night. Highly recommended!
