This place is fantastic! Once in the park you can go on a Safari bus tour and we saw camels, hippos, zebras, giraffes, gazelles (I think they were), rhinos etc. all roaming around ... then the rest of the park is awesome - totally catering for kids with fun and different playgrounds, a dinosaur dig, little water park/spray type area where water shoots from different things including a hippo's behind! Of course the kids loved that!

The first time we went there we didn't have enough time to see everything as the kids (and us) were so enthralled with everything so were moving around the zoo at a very slow pace.

We loved it so much we became zoo members as the membership gets you into Melbourne Zoo, Healsville Sanctuary and other Australian Zoo's like Taronga, Perth Zoo etc. Brilliant for the $88 cost. Only my husband and I bought the memberships as kids are free on weekends, school holidays and public holidays!

We ventured back 2 weeks after our first visit to see the “Rhythm of Africa” which is running Saturday's from 4.30pm from January through February (I think they do it each year). We saw African acrobats and a brilliant African band – WOW! We brought a picnic and we danced! And during the breaks the kids got involved in an African drumming workshop – the guy doing that with the kids was fantastic! During the show we also wandered around the zoo and saw the animals at dusk - magical. As part of the Rhythm of Africa there was also hair braiding, African food, drinks available, tea ceremony – all this is ‘free' as part of your admission costs … or part of our zoo membership as the case may be. We will be going back soon. Can't get enough of this place - and the work they are doing with animals and to prevent animal extinction is just fabulous! Do yourself a favour and go and if you can get to one of the Rhythm of Africa sessions do it.

Delicious Malaysian food in the heart of St Kilda – made even better by being in the Entertainment book with 25% your total bill.

I made a last minute booking on a Saturday night and they managed to squeeze us in. As we had young kids we got there early and they originally took us upstairs but there was no one else up there at that stage so lacked the atmosphere that downstairs had. We asked if there was anyway they could squeeze us in downstairs and they did – very accommodating of them, as it was quite full. Having to keep it fairly mild for the younger family members we ordered Spring Rolls, Chicken Curry, King Toh Beef, Mee Goreng (Indian Style) & Special Fried Rice. Everything was outstanding, absolutely delicious. The Chicken Curry had more of a spicy kick and was my favourite. There was enough to take home after we'd finished and the flavours the next day were possibly even better. (I am salivating at the thought of it!) It is licensed; the bottle of wine we ordered was reasonably priced and good quality.

The service was superb. The atmosphere was lively. We highly recommend this place and will be returning for sure!

Approximate cost: $20

We are regulars to Saffron Indian Restaurant. We always enjoy our meals and find their service friendly and efficient. Highly recommended! Plus it's normally in the Perth Entertainment Book at 25% off your meal (up to $30 value) so that is a bonus.
