Recently tried this newly opened Indian restaurant. We decided to try the takeaway so we could try a couple of dishes and save some to freeze.

The prices for a takeaway I felt are a bit high but the quality of the curries was very good. I would ask them to spice it up next as it wasn't spicy enough for me but I do like hot hot hot!

We tried the beef madras, chicken tikka masala and a vegetarian curry. All were perfectly good, and we would eat there again.

Recommend you to give it a go and see what you think.

My partner and I have been frequenting the bar at the Country Club for a while now. There's an amazing view overlooking a fountain an the gold course and beyond.

For my partners recent Birthday, we decided to have a meal with a few friends at the restaurant. We were apprehensive as the bar service is not very good. However, we were more than pleasantly surprised. My partner had grilled fish and vegetables, I had a massive chicken breast in a mustard and cream sauce, both very tasty and fresh. I could not fault any of it apart from the portions were too much.

Thoroughly recommended you give this one a go.

This review is for Sebel, Cairns QLD

I have stayed here under two previous owners and I have to say the most recent (current) owner, Accor have been by far the best. Under the previous ownership, it was definitely a steer clear but not any more....

The mere presence of Accor and their level of service and professionalism is a great start.

The large open reception greets you on arrival and then continues to expand through to the bar and restaurant. The rooms are clean and comfortable and what you would expect from a 5 star hotel although I personally feel that the Pullman over the road is better )although I do have a soft soft for that hotel).

I would recommend giving this another go if you've stayed here pre Accor. If you have never stayed at the Sebel, then you won't be disappointed.

Great location on the Esplanade overlooking the lagoon and in the middle of many other eateries and close to Cairns' famous Night Markets.

An extensive menu is available from lunch (11:30am) through until late, they do have a lunch menu (11:30am - 5pm) and an evening / all day menu until 10:30pm.

The freshly cooked pizzas are a must and are prepared and cooked in the clay pizza oven out the front.

The food is freshly prepared and is competitively priced. A big portion is a given nearly everything on the menu.

Kick back, have a beer, watch the big game on the big screen and enjoy the sites and pizza....

A good place for a pub meal, have a few beers, chuck a couple of bucks in the pokies or the nags.

Pub grub and almost restaurant quality meals at sensible prices with daily promotions during the week.

Great quality meat and always available, even if something isn't available, then they will get it in for you.

Prices are good as well, just slightly more than the supermarket but much much better quality.

In Smithfield, looking for meat? Then use this one!

A small traditional barbers with the exception that your hair will be cut by one of the friendly ladies and not a man!

For a quick, friendly, easy and value for money cut, you can't go past this one.

This review is for Skytrans, Cairns QLD

verified email - 15 Jul 2012

I have used Skytrans both on their commercial and charter services and cannot really fault them.

They provide a better in flight service (meal) and entertainment than other companies such as Qantaslink who provice an apple or cookie and no entertainment. They normally play a movie with bluetooth headsets which also have music.

Only downfalls, no alcohol on board (either carry or served) and slowish type of aircraft which is what you would expect anyway with a regional carrier.

We frequently visit Centrals for a drink and we used to eat there before the kitchen changed hands and we loved it.

My partners parents were visiting recently and we decided to eat there whilst attending the weekly meat draw on a Friday night.

I had the Szechuan Salt N' Pepper Prawns and Calamari which was excellent value and tasted great. Another had the rump, fish special and fish and chips, all were good value and there were certainly no complaints.

Definitely recommend you to try it.

Oh yes, and we won a meat tray ;-)

This review is for Bangkok Rose, Trinity Beach QLD

verified email - 18 Jun 2012

Having lived in Trinity for more than 8 months, people told me how great the Bangkok Rose was for Thai food.

We gave it a go....

....we decided to grab the takeaway so probably not the best way to try it.

We had 2 different dishes to share, one of which was the green Thai curry. Hhhmm? I've personally never had fresh fennel throughout a curry like this. I found it very overpowering and as much as I like fennel, it certainly ruined the green curry. It was nice and spicy with plenty of fresh vegetables so without the fennel it would have been much better.

Even though we didn't enjoy the first eating experience at the Bangkok Rose, I would give it another go.

Why not give it a go yourself?

Approximate cost: $15.00
