Perfect for pre-show dinner as located near Sydney Opera House. Upmarket chinese/malaysian restaurant, with fresh, great quality seafood oriented menu, but some modern surprises such as venison with chilli & herbs. We had the divine salt & pepper squid, sang choy bau, prawns with snow peas and penang Kapitan chicken - and of course finished off with one of the best fried ice creams I've ever had!
Approximate cost: $30
This cave-like, modern and uber trendy Spanish tapas bar in the city provides a great atmosphere for either an intimate dinner for 2 or a larger group celebration as we were recently. The service could not have been more attentive and personal, with our waiter always appearing before we even knew we wanted him. Glasses were kept full with sangria and cocktails with the recommendation of the house specialty - espetadas (portugese charcoal skewers) certainly not disappointing. Gorgeous tapas dishes (generous sizes)were enjoyed as well, such as chorizo, prawns and squid. A great night out!
We had big expectations for this new managemet of our old favourite vietnamese. The decor's been spruced up and the menu's a little more varied but the staff weren't quite coping with the busy crowd on the weeknight we were there. The meals were a good size and very nice but prices certainly not as reasonable as they used to be.
Approximate cost: $15-$20
We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the haloumi and mushrooms and sausages for entree, as well as the marinated lamb souvlaki and lamb rack were very enjoyable. The service was good though it was a quiet night so the staff weren't stretched. three courses for $36 a great deal
I only trust Harry with my feet. He's very thorough, and makes sure you walk away with beautifully smooth and soft feet. I've been to other Podiatrists who rarely remove a corn properly, leaving the core behind, and then returning within weeks. Because of Harry I was able to walk around sightseeing whilst on holidays in comfort.
We went on a quiet weeknight and service was pretty good. Food was standard thai fair and fairly generous serving but also pricey compared to other local thai. Can't help but think you're paying for the modern, funky decor. Don't go on a weekend - way too noisy, the staff can barely hear/understand you.
Great quality gourmet pizzas with traditional, healthy (heart tick approved), and gourmet toppings. Our favourites - the meditteranean lamb, meatball pizza, roast potato & pumpkin and the "upper crust" range for a little bit more - moroccan lamb, shepherds pie and sausage duo our favourites.
Very attentive to our needs with a 9 month old, making sure we were warm in the outdoor area - gas heater and even a blanket offered. Menu was extensive but we both ended up going for the specials - pork and salmon
One of our favourite takeaways although dining in is great too. Quick, fresh, and lots of variety as you make up your own combination of stirfry with noodles or rice, as well as yummy entrees. We're here at least once a fortnight in Summer and always before going across the road to the movies.
We came here three times in one week with different groups to show off our favourite place for lunch with a view or dinner by the fire. The Bistro menu is sophisticated and nothing disappoints. The Toblerone pyramid for dessert is to die for! Great value for money, great atmosphere, a great place to catch up with friends and family as it's not too noisy like many other places.
