This review is for Mister Bean, Maroubra NSW

verified email - 31 Jan 2015

Mister Bean is conveniently located in the heart of Maroubra Junction in front of the bus stop and next to the RTA. The coffees are all standard prices- nothing spectacular though. They have a fair variety of breakfast and lunch food- reasonable prices, but nothing out of the ordinary. The staff are friendly enough and I do not have any issues with them when I go. Sometimes it smells a bit much though- I think they could do with better ventilation in the "open" kitchen which kind of opens onto Anzac Parade. I usually get a coffee and sometimes a muffin but rarely get breakfast there due to the smell. All in all, satisfactory and okay!

This review is for Yum Yum Thai Take Away, Maroubra NSW

I live very close to Yum Yum Thai so go there regularly. I just had the tom yum goong soup- quite nice. I think the menu has changed though as I have not seen one of my favorite dishes there for awhile- larb tofu. The lunch specials are quite reasonably priced and at other times, the mains are reasonably priced, too. The chicken gai yang and fried chicken wings are delicious! Recommended for a reasonable price and filling meal.

This review is for Luxe Espresso, Bondi Junction NSW

I go there for the nice food. The service is okay. The prices are a bit high. The coffee is not too bad. But the food is quite yummy. Like the poached eggs with salmon for breakfast. Upstairs at the Luxe in the food court, the burgers are pretty good too, as is the steak salad. The service upstairs is so so too and sometimes you have to wait quite awhile. :( If I wasn't so hooked on their chicken burgers and steak salad, I probably wouldn't really recommend.

This review is for Dot's Frozen Yoghurt And Cafe, Bowral NSW

verified email - 06 Jan 2015

For the Southern Highlands esp Bowral, this cafe was great value- $6 for the burger, $6 for the pork roll, and I think $5 for the wedges. We also got milkshakes- $6 each- which was fair enough. The service is quick and efficient. The decor is bright and chirpy. Plenty of places in the shade so you don't have to sit in the hot sun if you want to sit outside. I would recommend if you want a good priced meal in Bowral.

This review is for China Dim Sim, Bondi Junction NSW

verified email - 24 Dec 2014

I go there when I want to have dim sims. They are a bit pricey- like 10 prawn dumplings for $15 but I think still cheaper than going to yum cha. That taste is okay. Sometimes, they have specials like today I got 5 dim sims (chicken) and 10 prawn dumplings for $20 instead of $22. The service is okay- friendly, consistent, and accurate enough. Easy to go to this place- near the Bondi Junction interchange. Recommended if you want dim sims but don't want to go yum cha! PS They do have a wide selection of dim sims and barbecue pork buns, spring rolls, etc.

This review is for Wang Wang Shanghai Silver Star, Kensington NSW

I am a regular there for the xiao long bao (soup dumplings) which do not cost anywhere as much as some other restaurants. Their hot and sour soup is also very good! They also have some nice specialities. The restaurant is a bit small and crowded and cramped- don't bring the pram!, but I think that is to be expected. It is easy to get to via public transport.

This review is for Shanghai Night, Ashfield NSW

The service is not the best but the value is good! Have been going there for awhile now whenever we feel like having dumplings. Always yummy and filling without costing a small fortune. Easy to access as you can park inside the mall or on the street and walk over. We usually have chive dumplings with some sort of noodles- either soup or a stir fry. My favorite is the fish dumplings. :) Getting craving for dumplings thinking about them now. I think this restaurant is cheaper than the other dumpling ones in Ashfield.

This review is for Good Food Gift Card, South Yarra VIC

verified email - 23 Dec 2014

I have been trying to resolve a gift card issue with this company for awhile- and no replies to e-mails and when I call, I get somewhat over-it staff who says they have done XYZ, but I don't think they have, because the issue still has not been resolved. I am quite upset, especially at this time of the year- the time of trying to give! This review has noting to do with the restaurants, just the service by the good food gift card provider!

I am a regular here for the $5 brekkie- best price in Bondi Junction!!! The coffee are regular price. The food is pretty good and simple and they have a great variety not just for brekkie but lunch too. You can also get cheap pasta and sandwiches. I usually have the poached eggs with coffee- comes with toast and tomatoes- just $8.50! The cheap pasta is $4. They also have very nice Filippino food- tocino etc (sorry I do not remember the names exactly). It gets quite busy, but that's what you get for such a bargain!

This review is for North Indian Flavour, Bondi Junction NSW

verified email - 18 Dec 2014

I think this is the better of the two Indian places in Westfield Bondi Junction. I am a regular there each week. The prices are okay and the taste is fine. A bit much rice and the service can be a tad slow at lunch time as there is only one serving staff. I am very picky about Indian though, but this one is quite all right- taste and quality and price!
