The oasis venue at the Shoreline Hotel is one of the more pleasant pokie places in the Hobart area. The staff do have their good days and their bad days, sometimes you'll get multiple entry forms for current competitions, other times they'll forget completely.

This review is for Banjo's, Hobart TAS

Their food is of a reliable standard - like all the shops in the Banjo's chain you get what you ordered. The decor could do with a refurbish, and I'm constantly miffed that if you order (for example) two pies, they'll both be put on the same red plastic plate if you don't ask for separate ones - and that's a recipe for disaster if you want your kids to stay clean

This review is for Jackman & McRoss Bakery, Battery Point TAS

Coffees are fantastic, the food is just amazing - things which should be standard bakery items are given a special twist. This is another place where it's hard to choose what to eat - I love whatever version of a mushroom danish they have going at the time, and the buttermilk raisin loaf (my brother-n-law can be easily bribed with the dark chocolate rocky road which is most definitely not for kids)

This review is for The Brezel Backerei, Sandy Bay TAS

These guys make Hobart's best raspberry danishes - more fruit on them than you could imagine. Their bretzels (pretzel shaped bread covered in an egg glaze and dredged with salt) are just to die for. The service though - it's interesting to say the least. I've walked in on multiple arguments between staff members, some out the back and some at the counter. I've never been smiled at I don't think either. But the food is amazing, and I can't recommend it highly enough (just don't eat in!)

This review is for Nut King, Hobart TAS

Hot nuts, unsalted, raw nuts, chocolate covered cashews (my fav!), soya crisps, rice crackers, bhuja mix, yoghurt frogs - the list goes on and on. buy by weight or cost.

This review is for La Pluie, Hobart TAS

A shop full of beautiful sparkly things at very affordable prices. Gorgeous hairclips, earrings, necklaces, ornaments, many of them festooned with diamentes, or beautifully enameled. A spanish resin necklace I treated myself to there always gets comments when I wear it. The staff are lovely beyond all description.

This review is for Zuba Coffee, Hobart TAS

Coffees are good, the internet is amongst the slowest I've come across but I've been going there at the same time, three times a week for the last month and they still don't recognise me as a regular, let alone begin to guess at what I drink. They have promos up for their frequent drinker club, but there are no forms in the stand and I've never been asked to join. It's been four weeks now, I don't think I'll be going back. $4.10 for a regular, drink-there, soy latte

This review is for David Brown Howrah Pharmacy, Howrah TAS

As well as being a pharmacy, they sell a good range of homy ped shoes, and have a wide range of gifts for all ages and both sexes. The staff are all lovely, the pharmacist always has time to answer questions

This review is for Hudsons Coffee, Hobart TAS

Coffee varies as does the service, but when they get it right, it's lovely. The decor could do with an update though. One of the staff is a young man who seems more intent on flirting with younger female customers than serving people who've ordered coffees. Having said that, it always amazes me that the other staff can remember how I have my poison of choice

Approximate cost: $6.5

This review is for Kingfisher Girl Guides Howrah, Howrah TAS

What a fantastic group for girls. Run by a supportive team of adults and aspiring guide leaders, girls learn to support one another and to have faith in themselves and their own abilities. Highly recommended
