This review is for Customs House Waterfront Hotel, Hobart TAS

Myself and family went to Custom House for lunch. I used to go there quite a lot and haven't been for quite awhile. The bread and dips were beautiful to start the meal. I was a little disappointed with my meal which was the risotto but mostly because of personal choice (not a fan of red onion and I think it was overpriced for size and the little seafood in it) but the other meals were extremely well priced and my little boy had steak and veggies and that was fantastic, beautiful veggies and steak. I love beautiful children's meals as we are teaching them to eat good quality food. All the other meals especially the fish meals were great, well sized and well priced.

I went to a wedding where Make Believe childrens entertainment were there to entertain the children. The female entertainer did an amazing job. She had about 12 children to entertain of varying ages. She had the corner set up with her own props, had loads of crafts and she was dressed in a bumble bee costume. She also was prepared to dance with the kids as well. My kids loved it and I would recommend them for kids parties or anything.

We went to the Quarry for pre-dinner drinks. The atmosphere was lovely and the back courtyard is very cute but as you would suspect full of smokers so not good for the non smoker. The couches were comfy and the service from staff was good. We would go there for drinks again

This review is for Tandoor Curry House, Hobart TAS

verified email - 22 Jul 2013

We went to the Tandoor house for our anniversary meal and we weren't disappointed. we had a banquet special that was massive. The entrée alone included chicken, samosas, lamb and beef. Two meat curries one veggie curry and a Dahl all for $28 per person, also including dessert and naan bread. My only complaint was that the table were really a bit close to other people which made private conversation difficult. Also the décor is quite dated and I think a fresh coat of paint wouldn't go astray and new table clothes. But I couldn't fault the food or the service, we will back there again without a doubt.

This review is for Doctor Syntax, Sandy Bay TAS

We went to Dr Syntax for lunch for my daughters birthday and wee very impressed. Lovely atmosphere and décor. The waitress was very helpful setting up a table for us without a booking. As usual I love a restaurant that does veggies for kids and steak as well. The menu was quite extensive with a huge array of choices. The waiter recognised that it was my daughters birthday and found a candle to put in her dessert which was lovely. As we were finishing our lunch they had some live music start up, with out the kids I could have easily sat there for awhile longer. That being said there were a lot of young families there and they were certainly kid friendly. Overall a great place to eat.

This review is for Shamrock Hotel, Hobart TAS

We went to Shamrock Hotel for lunch and decided to book as we understood that it might get quite busy as they have just started opening on a Sunday. We are glad that we did book, their $10 meals are very popular. For $10 it was great value and pretty much what you would expect for $10. I was also pleased that on the kids menu they had a beef snitzel and served kids meals with vegetable which not all pups and prepared to do. It was nice to go out for lunch and to not have it break the bank and it was a good decent meal...

This review is for New Norfolk Hotel, New Norfolk TAS

We took the family to New Norfolk and decided to have lunch. The New Norfolk Hotel seemed to be the only pup open. It was clean and what you expect of a country pup a bit dated but acceptable. It had pokies right next to the dining which made the kids ask if they could go and play that computer game and I am not sure they have ever really seen pokies before, but they were happy with no without a long conversation about why those computer games are only for adults. It had a make me pay money for a dull ride motorbike for the kids (however only $1 for a ride which is much better than most) and a couple of those try and grab a toy machines, escaped with only spending $2 so not so bad. But on reading the menu we were very excited that my three year old son could order steak and veggies off the kids menu for $8. I don't think I can name another pub that serves steak for kids and most won't serve veggies for kids just chips. He devoured it as it his favorite meal. The two girls had fish and chips which looked really nice and the Tartare was very yummy. The kids also got free icecream with their meals, little dixie cups with topping and sprinkles the perfect size for children. My meal was nice but the rump was the small one and it was very small, which I wouldn't mind but it was also very thin. We would definitely go back, the meals were extremely reasonable and steak and veggies for children a winner with our family

This review is for Putters Adventure Golf, Moonah TAS

We recently made a trip to Putters Adventure Golf with the whole family, a 3 yr old, a 5 yr old, a 10 yr old and a 16 yr old and my husband and myself. The 3 yr old is too young still but the rest of the family enjoyed the experience. We did the indoor course which was fun and shielded us from any bad weather so it is an all weather activity, . The course was entertaining but probably a little bit dated. I thought it was really expensive as we do have a big family, but a family ticket was $40. The staff were friendly. We will definately go back but probably only as a birthday treat event, it isn't an any old day activity just for fun. But still lots of fun. Best thing was none of the kids bet me and I came a respectable second to my husband.

This review is for McDonalds, Moonah TAS

I would like to review the McDonald's in Hobart because while the food is the same they are not all equal. Number one point I'd like to make is that the coffee is AWFUL at McDonald's and so far that seems across board but the sticking to Glenorchy the coffee is terrible, however I do enjoy their hot chocolates. The playground is middle of the road as far as McDonald Playgrounds go, and it isn't always clean. My pet hate of most McDonald playgrounds is that if your child gets hurt then it is really hard to get in to get them. I prefer that the Glenorchy one doesn't have a no shoe policy anymore. I really prefer my children to be wearing their shoes in that playground. The toliets are reasonably clean as is the shop and the staff are efficient, friendly and as quick as you could reasonably expect of any McDonald's staff. While not my preferred McDonald's it is by no means the worst, certainly a middle of the ground safe and reliable McDonalds.,

Yum a beautiful little chocolate shop in Cygnet. This is our second visit and now a family favorite to visit for a little treat. The shop is open and friendly and the owners or staff very welcoming and friendly. They have very cute little bags of chocolate for approx $4 a bag and the chocolate is very yummy. Luckily me, my daughter isn't keen on the dark chocolate so I got those ones and it is delicious. I had one of their very pretty bars with print on them and the chocolate is beautiful and so pretty they would make a beautiful gift and a must stop for tourists visiting cygnet.
