Food was edible but not quite nice enough to be nice. The offputting thing about this cafe were the staff. Overly nice and familiar. Who I can only assume was Nanna came and sat at our table to take our order. Which would be fine for the locals who come in for a coffee and a chat. But we didn't know her from a bar of soap and aren't the sort of people who want to be joined for lunch. She also forgot to make my milkshake because she got distracted by locals coming in. Wont be going back.

The gardens were beautiful. Unfortunately we missed most of the waterlillies in flower but it was still a good day out. The on site cafe does great hot chocolate and according to mum the coffee was beautiful. Would love to go back next summer and see it at its peak.

The first thing that happened when we got to this cafe was that we were harrassed by a very annoying woman. We were after lunch and all we wanted was to see a menu. Not only did she block the path to the menus she stood millimetres away to tell us in detail the soup of the day and about a million other things we could have that we weren't interested in. The food itself was nice but very overpriced. $12 for a toasted cheese sandwich just because it came with a salad I didn't want. The annoying lady interrupted us halfway through eating to tell us that the pots of cyclamens were for sale. It got to the point we considered doing a runner just because we didn't want her in our faces again. Not worth going again.

A great day out for kids! I remember going here when I was a kid and the hedge maze seemed to have a lot more room in it than it does now. We had an absolute ball And for four of us it wasn't that expensive. We walked for miles searching for gnomes and fairies and the kids left as certified gnome hunters which they loved! There is a cafe on site but it would be a beautiful spot for a picnic. Make sure you allow at least two or three hours but you could easily stretch it to the whole day.

This review is for Parisi's Pizza, Mornington VIC

We aren't locals but were in Mornington for the day and pregnancy cravings being as demanding as they are, I HAD to have pizza on our way home. It was 9:30pm and this was the first place we saw that was open and had parking anywhere near it. The customer service was excellent and the pizza's were very reasonably priced. Unfortunately the pizza's themselves were very disappointing. Toppings were thin and it made us a little uneasy watching the young guy making them flicking his Justin Bieber hair all over the place. Its unlikely we'd go back even if we were anywhere near them again.

The meal was absolutely lovely. They are huge servings and they don't do half serves so if you don't have a huge appetite it may be an idea to take someone to share with. The staff have a very local and friendly attitude. Cost is about average for a pub bistro meal.

We only went for site seeing and not an actual swim. The boat ride was very relaxing but we didn't see any dolphins which was a bit disappointing. We got a voucher at the end for 50% off the next trip because we didn't see any dolphins so we might try again. They told us they would have food on board so we didn't really have lunch first believing we would be able to get a hot dog (which was advertised) during the trip but after waiting about 15 minutes for one of the staff members to come and serve me we were told they didn't have any hot dogs. It was a nice day out but I wont be too worried if we don't get to go again.

This review is for The Australian Shark & Ray Centre, Dandenong South VIC

verified email - 03 Jan 2013

The actual experience of getting in the water and feeding and patting the sharks and rays is absolutely unbeatable. It was so much fun and the rays are so soft and so friendly and its just an amazing experience. However the cost to get in is extreme! The staff are less than attentive and you spend a lot of time standing around waiting to be told where to go to get wetsuits/waders etc. The change room facilities need a serious upgrade as there is no showers, I would of liked to have rinsed off my niece and nephew who came with me. I would still definately go back if I had spare cash lying around.

This review is for Discount Lollie Shop, Shepparton VIC

They advertise on TV as having hugely reduced prices but it really depends what you're looking to buy as to whether it's any cheaper than the supermarket at all. Some things are great but you probably shouldn't go expecting to get a bargain.
Considering we aren't even close to locals its was really easy to find. The staff were friendly and there is also stock like pop tarts and Dr Pepper that aren't so easy find.

This place is so much fun! If you're a gardener then its so worth a visit. The cafe could improve and the plants are a bit overpriced. But if you're looking to get ideas for your garden this is the place to go. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to get it all done. Pick a nice day to go as quite a bit of it is outside.
