I shared a chocolate tasting plate with my daughter and I absolutely loved it. We were given chocolate squares and advised to slowly eat each piece starting with the darkest and savour the experience. It was definitely a lesson in appreciation of quality rather than quantity. The tasting plate also included salted caramel balls and orange confit chocolates. I found both so delicious that I had to purchase some of each to take home with me. I would recommend Monty's to anyone looking for chocolates of exceptional quality.

I went on a Sunday night in May with two of my daughters for dessert. Normally a coffee drinker I decided to try chai latte as they brew their own chai tea rather than use powder or syrup. We chose red velvet cake and raspberry almond cake to share between three of us. Although when you first enter the place looks small and busy there is a lot more seating round a side wall and down the back leading outside to a courtyard. It is great for people watching as you'll see such an eclectic mix of people - students, artists, business people. The chai was for me probably an acquired taste, being more used to coffee, it was a little more subtle in flavor but maybe I need to try more of them. The red velvet cake was absolute heaven! I sincerely hope it is regularly available at this cafe. I would return again for the red velvet cake and the experience of dining at this quirky location.

We had Churros for 2 some with cinnamon and some with icing sugar and both milk chocolate and dark chocolate for dipping. Personally I preferred cinnamon coated Churros dipped in dark chocolate. I also had a Spanish mocha. If you haven't tried San Churro yet then I recommend you do. They are now in major cities in most states and an awesome dining experience. So go and treat yourself!
