This review is for Cellini Lounge Bar , Heidelberg VIC

We have tried Cellinis a couple of times lately for a drink and early dinner.
Between my wife and I we have tried the veg lasagna, some prawn dish and the olive tapenade bread. All pretty tasty and didnt feel they had skimped on the portions.

Our experiences have been positive - not overwhelming - but solid and good enough to go again.

Staff were fine, perhaps variable on the surliness scale (if there is one and thats an actual word) but attentive enough and all orders per the specification.

Drinks are obviously where they make their money and I now know the answer to the question, "where is the worlds most expensive lemon, lime and bitters sold?".

All up, worth another go.

Our experience at the Royce was lovely - a wedding anniversary stay which included pre-dinner snacks and dessert later in the restaurant.

Its in a great spot with easy access to the city, the room we stayed in was an upstairs/downstairs suite and it was comfortably appointed. Clean and nicely appointed bathroom and bed/pillows were a treat.

Staff were very friendly in both the hotel and restaurant.

The 'cardio' room was fine for a 1-time use although I'm not sure where they keep the brooms now?

All up, it was a very nice experience and we hope to go back again.

A very odd place but in a good way !

We had a drink in this rambling old terrace and then watched the comedian Michael Connolly perform. The bar staff were super friendly and pumped up both this act and the Gershwin singer that was on later.

Michael was really great despite a small crowd ("...intimate setting..."), offering a funny, clean and innuendo free set.

One of those acts and places that make the fringe festival a treasure.

We went to Seoul Cafe for our team lunch last Friday. Its not obvious where it is but not overly difficult to find - it probably thins out the crowd a fair bit, which was a good thing for us !

Our table went for a mixture of beef and seafood dishes, with an entree of dumplings. Mine was Don Buri which was a rice/beef/vegies dish. My trainer would be so pleased to see me enjoying such a healthy combination and all at a reasonable price.

Having never been to Korea, I cant vouch for its authenticity but it tasted great, was quick, wasnt packed and all for a pretty reasonable price.

Recommend giving it a go !

Having used Abound for my past two returns, I have been very pleased with the advice, timeliness and communication.

It has been a no-fuss approach and that has suited me.

I will be very pleased to get my return done there next year.

This review is for Café Vue At Heide, Bulleen VIC

Somehow we slipped the kids and excitedly went to Heide for brunch. Its a beautiful spot. We opened up with some coffee which was fine (when is a coffee cold?) and ordered. Some poached eggs + a few accompaniments for the boss - mushrooms, tomato and some avocado. They forgot the bacon but thats not life threatening. Mine was the granola and when finished, I knocked over the soup of the day which was what my Mum would have called snow soup.
It would be fair to say we enjoyed all that - very tasty and well presented. Perhaps unlike other patrons, the floor staff were attentive despite a rather curious initial interruption.
We were then staggered that the bill topped more than $72. Rather disingenuously Cafe Vue prices the tomatos, the avocado, spinach and the mushrooms as four separate add ons - for $5 each. Stunningly a pair of eggs and a small side are worth $32.
We raised it with the staff who couldnt dismiss us fast enough. If you can imagine a snooty European voice telling us that 'sides cost at least $4 elsewhere and you should have ordered the breakfast', well thats a fair summary of our concerns being heard.
Sometimes things cost a bit and we should have left with a memory of some nice time alone, a great feed in a beautiful spot. It was spoiled though by the gouging (and dismissive staff), and left with that rather hollow feeling that we had been ripped off.

Its almost an expectation that you are gouged at the till at holiday towns but to get two very average coffees - both wrong - and then get attitude isnt up the mark.

Keep driving to Sorrento.

This review is for The Fish, Fish & Chippers, Heidelberg VIC

Very solid - the quality of the meal is always of a high standard. Our family orders a range of things from fish, potato cakes, burgers and chips and they are all good. I think its on the expensive side, particularly the chips which has serves that are not generous. The area I would suggest could use improving is the layout of the shop - if its busy, its almost impossible to get in to order and the people ordering struggle to get out to let others in. Otherwise, worth a look !
