A really well-stocked $2 shop. Obviously, the organisation can be a little frantic due to the large number of items but the staff are knowledgeable and are good at directing people to the right section, and the organisation of products is clear. It is a little cramped and dark, but overall a great shop when you need some random cheap item.

I buy my daily bread from here and I really like the loaves: really soft and fresh. The pastries from here are decent, but nothing to rave about. There's not usually a long line, so service is efficient, although the ladies are Vietnamese and can speak broken English. A good local bakery overall though.

So I've recently started going here because its in a convenient location. However, I find that I don't like how some doctors are here on one day but not the next, and I find that even when I make an appointment, they always run late. The doctors here are generally nice and professional, but there is often a very long waiting time (often about an hour or more) if there a lot of waiting patients. It is convenient that they have a pathology lab in the building though, because it makes it convenient when a blood test is required etc.

This review is for Quick Cut, Parramatta NSW

This place is affordable for cuts, especially for students. However, although the cut turned out okay, I felt like the hairdresser hadn't really listened to the style that I wanted, even though she was nice and friendly and asked what I wanted. The service is friendly and professional though, and there usually isn't any waiting time, which is a plus.

This review is for Passionflower, Haymarket NSW

Passionflower has decent ice-cream but it is a bit over-priced. However, the flavours are pretty good, and I definitely recommend the passionfruit flavour (so refreshing and yummy,a dn with actual passionfruit seeds!). However, I was a bit disappointed because I think we received an old menu which displayed an old price, and so my group of friends were surprised by the price of our ice-cream at the end but didn't feel like taking it up with the staff. So pay attention to the price listed on the table menu, not the menu received if you're not sure. Overall though, a good place to have an ice-cream with friends, but not the most affordable place to go.

This review is for Rise Restaurant, Darlinghurst NSW

I believe that hands-down this is probably the best-value degustation menu in Sydney. The food is absolutely delicious, and I loved the tapioca dessert (although of course the degustation menu changes relatively often). The staff are always willing to help with requests. The restaurant is rather small though, and a bit dark, so the noise level gets rather unbearable if there is a noisy group of patrons. Overall though, a very pleasant experience that I would love to try again.

I went here recently and really enjoyed all the dishes that I had, which from memory was a very fresh and enjoyable sushi dish and teriyaki beef. The menu was pretty affordable overall and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a pleasant Japanese dining experience.

This review is for Bachmayer Orthodontics, North Parramatta NSW

I got my braces off from here. I found their prices to be quite good for an orthodontist, and he was one of the few willing to listen to my concerns for my braces [I didn't want any teeth removed]. I found service to be professional and helpful, and the layout of the surgery is very modern and cleanly. Overall, a good orthodontist who I would recommend to others.

This review is for Tina Hot Bread, Canley Heights NSW

Love the pork rolls from here, although at $3.50 it's more expensive than some other stores. Chicken roll is good too, although it's more expensive. The pastries and things here are all very affordable, with almost all of them being under $2. Service though can be a bit inefficient at times because there can be a large amount of people waiting, but there's usually only one or two women serving. Overall, a good bakery and great spot to get a snack if you're after something affordable.

This review is for El Jannah Charcoal Chicken & Lebanese Cuisine, Granville NSW

verified email - 26 Jul 2010

The garlic sauce here honestly is very addictive, and whilst the chicken is usually good and juicy, there have been occasions where the chicken I received is dry, and sometimes too burnt for my tastes [yes, I know its charcoal chicken but there's a point where it becomes unpleasant]. Service is usually efficient but there is sometimes no clear indication of where to line up, meaning that people who come later occasionally get served before you, which is frustrating. I'd prefer for take away rather than eat-in though as there is a fee for eating in.
