I took my chihuahua to Shadowhawk at West Wallsend for behavioural & obedience training when I was experiencing problems with her (not) responding to my commands and for incessant barking. The results were remarkable!
Shadowhawk Dog Training worked wonders. Carol Young, the owner and primary trainer is locally known as a 'dog whisperer' and can really get inside their heads! She has had extensive certification herself within the industry and has worked internationally.
I ended up leaving my dog with her for in-house training over about 10 days, which is one of a number of options available - depending on your (dogs) need, and your budget. It was very well worth it - although I did suffer some 'separation anxiety'.
Carol also provides private & group training and even does on-the-spot consultations. She works with you personally as well, and 'trains the trainer' to make sure you are able to maintain consistency for the long term, and she is always available for followup.
I really can't recommend Carol & Shadowhawk highly enough.
So my overall experience has been that the service is terrific and value for money worth every cent. Costs vary so it's best to make an appointment to discuss you and your dog's need in person with Carol.

I leave my chihuahua puppy here regularly for 'long doggie day care' while I'm at work. She gets heaps of attention from the kind and friendly staff who really take care of her; she loves it as she's a very sociable little dog! It totally removes the angst I'd feel if I left her home alone. For a little extra, they also cut her nails for me (if you need it, you can drop in for 'a pedicure' without an appointment). And if you want the whole wash, wax, cut & polish, or a swim in the hydrotherapy pool, just make an appointment and their professionally trained staff will take care of everything; it's all available there at a very reasonable price. You can also save some money and DIY, if you wish. Couldn't recommend them more!!

Approximate cost: $20 for long day care

Went here for Christmas breakfast with the girls and it was fabulous. This is the second time we've had a 'do' here and it wont be the last. It's not the cheapest menu around but has a lot of variety and full of flavours. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the overall service was terrific.

This is a great local farmers market. It has everything you could need and then some all with excellent quality, service and value. Definitely try Seth's homebaked cakes and breads etc. (in the undercover area), these are equal, if not better, than anything you could find in the Sydney metro area.

This has to be the best hamburger joint in town & the chips are terrific. You get great burgers & freshly made sangas all @ a really good price, with clean, quick, friendly service - and you can get a decent breakfast there as well. It's a plain and simple, no nonsense little shop but it delivers the works!

Approximate cost: $7-15

Wonderful Coffee! really good service, beautiful picturesque location. would go there again in a flash, wish it were only down the road instead of an hr away. Still it's a pleasant drive in the country…

unfortunately just what you'd expect from a institutional cafeteria, nothing interesting about the food or the atmosphere - one would only eat there because there's no other choice when you're hungry and haven't brought your own! Very disappointing menu
