estabar truly has the some of the best gelato in town! I've been here a few times now, and am always tempted to try a new flavour :) The view is just stunning, unlike anything you will find around darby or beaumont street - as it looks out over the gorgeous newcastle beach, and if you ever get the chance, come here on a clear morning, and sit there with a coffee, and just experience the cool breeze and atmostphere this place has to offer! :)

My absolute FAVOURITE place to stay if I want to go all out in Sydney for a night, the rooms are simply stunning, and fit in really well with the theme of Sydney Harbour. Whenever I've stayed here, there's always a lovely view from the window, complimenting the great and refreshing atmosphere. If you haven't been here, it's really worth a try - as it's one of the only hotels in Sydney which aren't in a high rise/noisy building, which don't really have any special qualities about them, but at the Sebel, it really is a breath of fresh air :)

This review is for Fernwood High Tea, Merewether NSW

I can remember my mother and I went here a little while back, and the experience was just wonderful! We didn't stay overnight (this is a B&B) but instead we had a lovely high tea! There was just one exquisite petit-four (kind of like sweet/savoury tapas) after another! It was such a unique place as well, as the garden was like something out of a fairy tale! The staff that work there are very sweet, and you tell that they love what they do :)
So, if you're ever visiting Newcastle, or just want a little escape into this lovely home-turned B&B, I HIGHLY recommend you take a peek inside one of Newcastle's little secrets, you will not regret :)

A lovely little place in Darby Street, the layout of the cafe is just so adorable, with all of the unique tables and chairs, art and books - which all contribute to a very cozy atmosphere. I've only ever been here for coffee and sometimes breakfast, and I've never been disappointed :) The staff are very friendly, and are always happy to engage in polite small talk - something I just love about going to restaurants and cafes - as good people usually means good food.
I recommend you have a look inside this lovely cafe, and if you get a chance - go and have a look at the wonderful upstairs design :)

My boyfriend just got a haircut here this afternoon, and the Haridresser knew exactly what would look great, and did an excellent job! He was very kind and considerate of our opinions, and I think its safe to say I'll be going back there again! He also showed us how to style his hair, and what products were best to use for the look we wanted - overall a lovely and friendly experience, and excellent value for such a fantastic job :)

This review is for The Civic Grocer, Newcastle NSW

Whenever I'm in Newcastle, I often stop off at this convenience store. They have MANY imported confectionery products, which is a really cool thing nowadays. I'm always greeted with a polite smile, whatever the hour of day it is. I gave the value 4/5 only because, well - it IS a convenience store after all! You don't really go looking for cheap stuff at these places, however I can say that the imported stuff is actually cheaper than the bigger stores that sell it, which is saying something...everyday groceries are only a little over priced, but it's never really bothered me, as the location is much more convenient than walking to the nearest shopping centre (which is marketown)
So if you're ever in Civic, whether it be catching a train from the station, or just passing by - you never know what little treats you'll find here!

*they sell poptarts!*

I've been going here for years now, and the food never disappoints. The service is very good, and the food is ready VERY quickly! It tastes great as well :) I mainly go for their soups or spring rolls as they are great little meals (good for you as well), as well as very convenient if I don't really feel like cooking after work. I highly recommend you take a look at their menu :)

I absolutely LOVE g&b! Whenever I need a really fancy dress I know just the place to go, and it's in a really convenient location as well :) Every dress, bag, necklace or bracelet I've bought here has remained in excellent condition - so quality is guaranteed. The ladies that work here are always very enthusiastic about finding the perfect dress for any occasion, and so I highly recommend you take a look if you're in need of a gorgeous gown!

This review is for Rice's Bookshop, Newcastle West NSW

A lovely little bookstore, not that many know about, but definitely worth taking a look. I mainly go here in search of rare vinyls, which are pretty reasonably priced. As this is a second hand bookstore, you can't expect the quality to be top notch - however their range of products is quite large so I'm sure just about anyone could fine something worth watching, reading or listening to in here! :)

This review is for 3 Monkeys Cafe, Cooks Hill NSW

They really have the best milkshakes and smoothies in Darby street - great range of food for an excellent price. The new renovations have really spruced the place up, and the waitstaff are friendly as always, if you haven't been to 3 monkeys cafe go and have a look and you won't be let down!
