This review is for Bombay Bloomers Restaurant, Randwick NSW

We went to Bombay Bloomers for the first time last month. Although Indian food is not my top favourite, we had a great time. The staff were friendly and polite and the menu is more interesting than some other Indian restaurant.
The food was vibrant, delicious and definately worth the value. The onion bhajis a good size and tasty, popadums were crunchy. We had the chicken tikka masala, lamb jalfrezi and saag gobi. The chicken and the lamb was tender. All had good flavour and texture.
My impression is, that this restaurant has been one of the finest Indian restaurants I have been to. Bombay Bloomers is a restaurant that I will definately be going to in the near future and do recommend it to everyone!

This review is for Why Thai Restaurant, Randwick NSW

I've eaten at Why Thai on several occasions. But only during my lunch breaks. This restaurant is good enough only for quick lunch for students and worker crowd, what is reflected in the relative cost of the meal. That's why the price is cheap.

The service was average, but they have very good looking waitresses. The restaurant itself is loud and pretty small. As I said before just go in, finish the lunch and go back to work.

Food is pretty good as well as the value, noise is average. My favourites are satay sticks, spring rolls, beef in satay sauce and boiled rice.

My girlfriend choose this restaurant based on good recommendations from friends. And I was nicely surprised and didn't find anything to complain.
The food was delicious and there was more than enough to feed us. We took a lot leftover home takeaway. Entrees, main and dessert were well received by commenting on how great the food was. Beef rendang and spicy chicken were the stand outs, whilst the rice pudding dessert was also a special.
The service was top notch. The wait staffs were always attentive, carefully monitoring our needs on the table and always ensuring there was enough water etc.The biggest surprise was BYO combined with no corkage and cake age, what was well received.

Overall we were very impressed with the service, food and value provided. We can highly recommend Jimbaran. Can't wait to go back!

This review is for Waga Waga Japanese BBQ Restaurant, Randwick NSW

verified email - 22 Feb 2012

I love Korean BBQ, so we wanted to try for change the Japanese one. This restaurant offer meat platters from $60 to $80(large)and plenty of seafood. We enjoyed our portion of tender beef fillet and also chicken wings BBQ at our table. The vegetables on the other hand were not ideal for BBQ, I more prefer the Korean choice of vegetables.
They have spent some dollars in creating a very nice atmosphere. Service was quick and very helpful, while price was about average for a modern Japanese BBQ restaurant.
I will try this restaurant one more time and I will try the seafood plate. I expect better experience than with the last one.

This review is for Mandala Nepalese Restaurant, Randwick NSW

Once I found a 25% discount voucher between my junk mails in my letterbox, so we decided to give a try to this restaurant. We started off with “momo”, which is a Nepalese dumpling. You can choose between the chicken or vegetarian filling. We decided for both, and didn't regret. The tangy, spicy roasted tomato dipping sauce was the perfect complement.

For mains I choose the large “Beda ko Masu”, which is a lamb curry cooked in tom, ginger and cumin and my girlfriend went for the “Jal Pari”, barramundi fillets. Plus we ordered the rice and naan bread. I found the fish fillets tender and tasty and nicely complemented by the sauces and the mixed vegetables. The meat was fresh and succulent and well-cooked the way I like it.
We finished off with a shared rice pud. The serving was generous and the texture rich and creamy. The interior decor is quite stylish with carpeted floors and interesting wall hangings.
Service was polite, efficient and helpful.
I paid $50 for everything, what is very reasonable value.

We just recently discovered this restaurant and are very happy to have done so. Excellent place for dinner after a early movie at Randwick cinema. The staff was so friendly, welcomed us with pappadum and mint sauce free. We order mixed grill for the starter it was best we ever had and for the mains we order chicken tikka masala rogan josh fish goan style and butter chicken everything was so yummy. The curries are flavoursome and the meat is very tender. My favourite curry is lamb south Indian style. The value is exceptional; two people can stuff themselves for $50 bucks.
Overall a very pleasant dining experience. We've also used the home delivery service and the food quality certainly loses nothing in transit. Would strongly recommend this restaurant to friends who enjoy Indian cuisine.

I have been here once and enjoyed it. Only my girlfriend was surprise with oysters Mornay, which were quiet small for 3$ per oyster. I didn't eat oysters, so I can't complain, I was quite satisfied with the taste of the dishes. The slow cooked pork with liquorice sauce was my favourite. The barramundi is bread crust was delicious. Very nice garlic pizza bread and the service were very good. Will come back to try some other dishes but the portions are certainly on the small side (at least for me, because I am big eater). It was a friendly and pleasant ambience.

The decoration in this restaurant is nothing fancy, just some pictures from Bollywood dance musicals on the walls.
But besides that, this place offers outstanding value for money in a comfy and homely atmosphere. Two of us dined there only for $50 and we got a shared samosa starter, two mains, a vegetarian chickpea dish and a lamb dish, rice, Nan bread, mango chutney and dessert. These meals were perched upon tea light holders to keep the food warm.
All the food, from starters to desserts, was fresh, tasty and served in just the right portions. The lamb especially was tender with a tangy sauce and the gulag jam-up dessert was a winner. It just melted in your mouth. Service was friendly, polite and efficient. I will definitely come back again.

This review is for Pizza Boys, Randwick NSW

If you want a good pizza, this is a place to try. I ordered a pizza and lasagne from here using online deal vouchers and was pleasantly surprised to be also given a small salad and side serve of chips with the lasagne. The food was good and price was reasonable, even without a voucher. Once I visited the restaurant, we realise, this is not place where to go for a quiet, romantic meal, or date. The seating area is very small. It is good for boys night out, just to have something to eat before go to the pub to watch sport events. The pizzas were good, fresh and hot. The salads are fresh and large. Overall, we've been pleased with the food. The service is acceptable and friendly.

This review is for Baba Ghannouj, Randwick NSW

Food is great over there, staff and chef are very friendly, I love the fattoush in there which I didn't find any other Lebanese restaurant make it the way they do, I love how the ingredients are always fresh, I will come back again and again.
My personal recommendation is toum, baba ghannouj, hommos and vine leaves as a take away snack. It was so good I order extra ones to take home for a snack after I already finish one in the restaurant.
