The main focus of the restaurant is their sushi rolls, of which there is a huge selection, all of which are very creative and delicious. Our favourite by far was the 'Big Fat Dragon' which was a delightful combination of tastes and textures- I'd definitely recommend you'd try this one! (although all were really great too!). Service was good, and the prices were quite reasonable.

Came here earlier this year for breakfast with a friend. I'm surprised it wasn't busier, as we loved the food here. I ordered the big breakfast, which was a huge serving, and each component done perfectly. Coffee was great also, and they have quite a big range of teas as well. Service was excellent- definitely recommended!!

Being located in Westfields, one could easily mistake this restaurant to be another one of those Westernized Chinese food joints- of which it is anything but. The Peking duck is quite cheap and is easily one of my favourites in Sydney- the duck is roasted until the skin is really crisp and the meat with a deep smoky duck flavour. Each duck is cut and then arranged beautifully by the chef himself. The other dishes on the menu are also done beautifully- another one I'd definitely recommend is the salt and pepper flounder, which is deep fried into a basket shape, giving it a 'wow' factor. Service was great, as the waitress was very attentive. The food is also priced very reasonably and a bargain for the quality of the food!

This review is for Chao Kong Chinese Restaurant, Eastwood NSW

Nice Chinese restaurant in Eastwood- food is priced well for around $10-11 for lunch (including a main and drink). The menu isn't extensive, but there's enough choice for a couple of visits. We love the singapore noodles as they are very flavoursome and are stir fried nicely with a great smoky 'breath of wok' taste. The baked fish fillets with cheese sauce isn't really chinese, but is amazingly good- there's just a bit of wait for that dish because the baking takes a while, but is well worth it- the fish fillets are deepfried nicely til golden brown and are complimented well with the rich white, cheesy sauce. The portions are also quite big and are great for sharing. Service is not bad and the decor is alright- making it a nice restaurant to be in if you're after something more than a quick cheap feed.

Approximate cost: $10

This review is for Cafe De Hong Kong, Carlingford NSW

Very cheap feed, averages out around $8 per person. Most of the food is quite good and the quality is consistent, although definitely not the best. Their breakfast and afternoon tea meals are quite good value, although the options on the menu aren't the most exciting- the meals come with a drink though, and they sometimes do a good HK style milk tea. The noodles with beef brisket for breakfast is quite good. Service is terrible most of the time, especially as it's quite busy and the waiters/waitresses are running around like crazy, but I guess most customers are used to it.

Approximate cost: $8

This review is for Big Echo, Sydney NSW

At $12pp for 3 hours with a free drink, it's great value. Of all the karaoke places I've been to in Sydney, this is one of the most updated- in most languages too. The rooms show a bit of wear on the sofas and don't have the best decor, but they're still nice and comfy. Their rooms are also quite big for the number of people in there, though that may be because we always visit at quieter times (in the afternoon).

This review is for Kansai Japanese Restaurant, Sydney NSW

The best value all-you-can-eat Japanese restuarant in Sydney in my opinion. They offer two versions of their all-you-can-eat deal, one including sashimi and hot pot and one without. Being a sashimi lover, we always go for the first option, and at $38pp, I've yet to find better value elsewhere!! The sashimi boat is done beautifully, although there's only three different selections of sashimi, and you can tell the boats are quite old from their colour. They also have a big selection of sushi/sashimi to try. Their selection of cooked foods is not huge- it only takes about one or two trips to try everything on there but most of their food is cooked beautifully so it's not a huge problem. The hotpot is also a great option especially in winter- we usually go for the seafood option, which has a bit of everything in it, and has a really pleasant, sweet fresh seafood taste. It's a shame that desserts are not included in the all-you-can-eat menu, because not finishing with something sweet always seems like the meal's missing something!!

This review is for Bungarribee International Buffet, Blacktown NSW

verified email - 02 May 2013

Bungaribee is similar to most other RSL buffets you'll find in Sydney- it's quite cheap and you'll get most of the usual food you find at RSL buffets. It's the quality of the food which really sets this one apart- they don't have the biggest selection of foods, but almost everything is really good so it makes up for it!The teppanyaki is especially delicious, and they keep making batches and batches of grilled fish because it's that popular! Desserts are great also but they aren't refilled very often, so make sure you get your hands on the ones you want when they're still available! :)

Living in the area, I'd been here a couple of times and thought that it was quite average. However, most recent times I've been here, I've been more than disappointed- service was quite rude and most of the times waitresses were unattentive. We came for lunch, and the menu was quite overprices, especially considering the price of lunch menus in the area- we ordered a pork fried rice for $16, which was quite boring and not as tasty as we'd hoped. Food also took forever to come out and we saw many other customers waiting a long time for food to come.

I'm not vegetarian, and don't usually go for vegetarian options on menus, but the foods here are done so well that you don't even notice that there's no meat!! All dishes here are really creative, thoughtful and delicious, so it's easy to see why it attracts hoards of people here every weekend, most getting here after a long drive from Sydney. The food on offer varies a little each week, but I really loved the mock bacon I had here on week, which was alike to real bacon I would not have noticed if I didn't already know that it was mock meat! The environment outside it quite nice an relaxing with green hills, cows and a beautiful pond- great for a stroll after a delicious meal!
