Not a bad spot for lunch or dinner. Red Spoon Thai is quite modern with nice decor with dark lighting and wooden furniture, it was quite busy, noisy and fast paced ( not good for a first date or quiet evening) but once we were seated we were keen to order straightaway.

We ordered chicken pad thai and a massaman beef with rice to share. The tandout for me was the massaman beef - the beef literally fell apart when I pushed it with my spoon, rich dark flavours in the curry with a hint of spice, loved every mouthful. We found the chicken pad thai a bit oily and left your mouth feeling greasy, abit of a let down.

Overall we enjoyed the food particularly the massaman beef, service was standard ( at times hard to get attention) being so noisy and busy with the half open kitchen adding to the already loud noise factor, ambience and atmosphere was good, great for a nice evening out and food prices were reasonable. We will return , as the beef is worth coming back for!

I had dinner here for the first time and it was pretty good, but pricey. I recommend the seared scallops, soft shelled crabs and the lychee cocktails are divine.
Its a very busy place, so I recommend making a booking if your going for dinner.

Been here in the past a couple of times but there are other places less expensive although the atmosphere is good and there's a separate enclosure for a big group.

You can always count on super quick service at Red Spoon - they get your food to you FAST! Says a lot about the high volume of food they produce, and the high turnover of customers. It is LOUD and it is BUSY - not the place to go for a cosy night of conversation over thai! The food is mostly delicious, but the speed of preparation and the sheer number of staff working there means the quality can lapse and a cold piece of lamb not quite cooked through can slip out. Servings are not conducive to sharing - definitely smaller than your average thai, and also more expensive. $4 pp for a T2 green tea bag is a bit of a disappointment. But I will go back, because it is quick and easy and, like I said, mostly delicious.

Approximate cost: $20

Hmmm, I was looking at going here for dinner tonight--what a shame about the inconsistent quality--and also the noise! I might check it out another time, thanks for your review :)

Living in the area, I'd been here a couple of times and thought that it was quite average. However, most recent times I've been here, I've been more than disappointed- service was quite rude and most of the times waitresses were unattentive. We came for lunch, and the menu was quite overprices, especially considering the price of lunch menus in the area- we ordered a pork fried rice for $16, which was quite boring and not as tasty as we'd hoped. Food also took forever to come out and we saw many other customers waiting a long time for food to come.

Approximate cost: $15

I love this place!

Delicious, tasty, authentic Thai dishes. Greeeat service - all waitresses that have served me are constantly on the ball and checking up on me without being too pushy or naggy. They gave the feeling that they were there if we needed them, but they weren't shadowing or nagging us while we ate.

On the one occasion that we found a hair in our food, they dealt with the problem quickly and in a very apologetic way, removing the item from the bill and discounting it further afte that, as well as replacing the dish with a fresh one.

Prices are average compared to most other Thai restaurants but the quality and flavour here makes it worth it without a doubt.

Would recommend the red duck curry served in a hollow pineapple! Yum!

Finding a hair is a bit concerning, but I'm glad they dealt with it well.

Nice review but I think their prices are quite expensive unless you're getting a discount.

Had dinner here after reading good reviews on WOMO. Food was amazing, had the ribs, thanks for that tip ValerieC. Service was great, lots of staff around. Prices were reasonable, especially given the quality of food and the service.

Have been here a few times and generally the food is good & reasonably priced but tend to be rather salty. Service is good when it is not very busy.

I love coming here whenever I feel like Thai - they have a great range of dishes on their menu. I particularly recommend the ribs and their special prawn fried rice. Can get busy so might have to wait a little while but its worth it.
