omg i thought this place had closed down , the last time i was here was in late 1973 when i was just a lad and to see that it still has a great variety of animals and nice little kiosk and is a very enjoyable day out for all the family, the hot dogs were not that bad for a price considering you are at a zoo

Approximate cost: $35

We took our youngs boys and exchange student to the zoo yesterday and we all had a really great day. I'm not a big fan of the zoo and usually suggest other activities to do because I don't think it's worth the money you spend, but I had a really good time and was very impressed. I liked the way everything had a very natural meandering layout, though it made it hard to navigate and follow the map at times. I also really liked the presentations they did for the kids and that they let you pat a koala, croc and snake. It was a really good day of exploration and discovery, especially for young children.

Approximate cost: $66 for family

I purchased a groupon voucher for Alma Park Zoo ($39 family entry) and ended up taking two of my kids (ages 4 and 7) and one little friend along (aged 7). It was the middle of school holidays so it got very busy from about 11 onwards. I expected it to be a full day activity but it was more like 4 hours of interesting fun. The kids sat through the very brief reptile and koala talks (felt a bit generic and rushed to me) but really enjoyed feeding many different animals. Great picnic areas. The usual shocking prices on food. $4.50 for a plain hotdog. $2.50 for a tiny packet of chips. The service was good though. My advice: take your own food and expect to enjoy a good half day and don't bother with the talks! Oh,and the line during school holidays for the 'persinalised' animal photos was horrendous. All the people who had paid their $15 for a photo with a koala or snake were waiting in line for a good hour!!! Take your own camera :-)

Approximate cost: $39

A good smaller style zoo. They have enough animals and shows to keep you busy for about 4-5hours. The best part is that it's quite interactive you can feed a lot of the animals including Donkeys, Emu's, Deer, Kangaroo & more. Our kids had a ball!

Approximate cost: $28 per adult

this place is great, our annual membership just expired though in the new years will renew, great day out with the kids or when we have visitors. there are plenty of picnic areas so we pack a lunch and buy a ice cream from their little cafe.
