I went to Angel's to have my hair cut before I went away on a holiday. I went in without an appointment as none are necessary but was greeted quite rudely by a lady who grunted and said at least 2 hours come back then and was quite abrupt and snappy.
When I returned the girl who actually cut my hair was friendly and listened to everything that I wanted done to my hair...
So mixed reviews about the service given, however I received a great cut...

only been here once but visit was quite nice. i went when they had a $20 style cuts promo going on and the lady that did my hair was really polite. i think they only have a few people working here at a time as they have just graduated from hair institute and have to start somewhere. nice place
The staff members are from a training school with only 1-2 senior staff at a time. I understand everyone needs to start somewhere, but this should be advertised a bit better, a few years ago it was a great hairdressers with fully qualified staff and you now have to work out for yourself that they're training.
I stopped going there when my layers looked turned into a mullet and after 3 bad haircuts, my partner stopped too.
Love Angels! Staff always happy to see me and never a problem to fit me in for a cut even if I forget to make an appointment and I just show up. Chris is very entertaining and I'm always happy with the end result -a great haircut!

I had my hair coloured to remove the grey for the first time and got a style cut as well.
The result was exactlly what I wanted - very natural colour and no grey and a great looking hair cut.
The hairdresser was friendly and knowledgable.
I asked whether it's true they employee trainees and it is not - the confusion is in the name - The Angel Hair Institute in Mair St is the hairdressing college, but this has its own salon at cheap prices for the students to learn. I was told that all the hairdressers at Angels Evolution are fully qualified and many have years of experience. It certainly looked that way to me (I watched the proceedings while my hair cured for about an hour).
I had my hair cut and foils done here. They were slow and my hair-cut was not great- the hair dresser seemed to need a fair bit of direction. Then she wanted to charge me for a 1/4 head of foils which was more than 1/2 head of foils which was on special. Probably wouldn't go back.

Absolutely brilliant . Great price and advice . I was informed all the girls were qualified and there were no longer any apprentices (just to clear that up) . I definitely will be back guys !!
Approximate cost: $100
THANKS GIRLS, CAN ALWAYS GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY TWO BOYS....ALWAYS HAPPY TO DO AS REQUESTED.. THANKS VICKI GREAT JOB
Having been to this trainee/apprenticeship salon a few times, I think that the overall quality of work is as expected. The employee's do their best, most of the time, however do not fully have the skills to give the BEST results possible. I have had experiences where they haven't cut my hair suitably or have coloured my hair with an average looking colour/mix, but other times they have hit the target. It is hit and miss at this store, but you pay for what you get & it gives the opportunity for some people to become great hairdressers one day.

They use apprentices and trainees for colouring and charge full price. My hair was meant to be medium brown with no red & it's turned out dark brown, verging black/mulberry. I look horrendous! But I paid my money to the apprentice. I had been warned about this place - that they use apprentices (ie who are not fully experienced or qualified) to do their work and the sting in the tail is you pay the same as if a qualified hairdresser did it but come out looking like an idiot.
Approximate cost: $85
*They never even brought my cup of tea.
**They should stick to cuts because they don't seem to have the time or qualified staff to do colouring.
had a great stylist, she gave me lots of friendly advice on how to look after my hair, the quality was one of the best i have ever came across, great friendly team, an low prices.
Great place to walk into . very cheap prices compared to most . overall the girls were great and i felt completely at ease and relaxed . good job guys !!

I think this place is great money for value, especially if your just after a haircut. The quality is OK and the service is pretty good, so I would recommend going there overall. I like how you can sometimes be fitted in without an appointment and its easy and convenient.
I think they are great. I have consistently been a customer for years. The girls are lovely and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I love the way my hair turns out, they are great for advice on what might look good ect. I took my embarrassed 11 year old daughter there after she cut her own hair nearly beyond repair. The hairdresser was very sensitive and nice to her, and made her feel a lot better.

I booked in to Angel's Evolution on a Saturday, for my re-growth dyed and a trim. They put the dye in, but were very busy, and at times, it seemed like they had forgotten i was there! After an hour they informed me that the dye hadn't "taken" as well as they'd hoped, and that they'd have to dye it again. I was there for almost four hours all up, and in the end, they barely blow dried my hair at all, little own straighten it - as promised. It is now 2 weeks later, and my re-growth is a brassy gold, a completely different colour to the rest of my hair! Never again!! :(

This is one of only 2 places in Ballarat I've ever had my hair cut over 6 years here and every time it's been great. I never really ask for anything special and I'm a guy so I guess it's not hard to get right but yesterday my girlfriend had her hair cut there and they did an amazing job. Also, the main reason I started going was because I never have to wait more than about 10 minutes from walking in off the street to having my hair cut with no booking.
Approximate cost: $20
The hairdresser and owner were both extremely rude. I had to find another stylist in town to fix the worst do.
I walked in with blonde hair needing my regrowth done. Simple. I wanted it to look the same as it was. So I asked for the same colour blonde and a "couple" of slightly darker blonde foils "around the front", as they were already in my hair. I walked out of their with my hair an entirely different colour - a salt and pepper grey is what I got. The blonde was not even close in colour to the original, more like a dirty white, and the second colour was BROWN - she showed me the colour chart AFTER my hair had been ruined - and said "I put every third one in that colour"...which was NOT even close to the colour I had asked for and wasn't "a couple around the front" as I had clearly asked for either. It was by far and away the worst colour job I have ever had the misfortune of getting and when I politely pointed out that I wasn't happy with the colour she said "well I did the best I could" and made no offer to correct the colour, offer a discount or even apologise. THAT is what made me angry and is why I will never ever do business at Angel's Evolution again and I am warning everyone I know, and even people I don't know, to avoid them. There are much better hairdressers out there. Go to them instead.

I have been getting my hair cut here for the last few years. They are very consistent even though I get a different hairdresser each time. The best thing about this place is that you don't have to make an appointement and even on a busy Saturday morning usually don't have to wait more than 15mins. Great if you are not one to preplan and book these things.
