Animato strings is an emporium of everything for the orchestral string play, and a bit more besides. Dietrich is a wonderful character with incredible passion for his products, a tour of his workshops was all part of the service. I bought a double bass for my son who is starting out, and was surprised that there was an appropriate instrument in stock and was prepped ready for collection (or indeed delivery) in two days – I was expecting 2-3 weeks at best. Prices were extremely competitive and for a beginners instrument the sound is rich and full. Highly recommended!

Great service, friendly, attentive, prompt service and a wealth of knowledge. They let us play the instruments and were very knowledgeable on all they have in their shop. They even let us watch the repairs to our violin. Awesome.

My daughter and I went in search of the perfect violin and Deitrich and his employees went out of their way to make that happen. Deitrich had a huge personality and played impromptu pieces on different violins so we could hear the differences in sound (which is more important than the look of the violin). He also threw in a free chin rest and upgraded the bow to a carbon one that came with the violin as it was better quality and easier to work with. He made the whole experience so exciting while being very particular about finding the perfect violin and took his time to make sure it was the right one. He even walked us out to the car park and waved and smiled as we drove off. An unbelievably memorable experience. Thanks so much Deitrich!

I live in Sydney, bought from overseas through Animato. They provided a top quality loan instrument at no extra cost until the new instrument was made and shipped, enabling me to continue to practice for the 20 weeks they said it would take to make and ship, and then return the loan instrument once I received my new instrument.

They were very helpful and meticulous in ensuring that the product I ordered (a custom 7-string Viper) was exactly what I asked for. They even did a YouTube clip for me when it finally arrived in the shop so that I could preview it while I waited for it to arrive in Sydney.

This shop is just soaked in atmosphere. Go there just to sit amongst the beautiful instruments. They will let you go into the workshop out the back to see the repairs being done. Real craftsmen. Lovely service.
