This hotel manages to balance its different customers perfectly. The front bar is home to the crusty Ashfieldians, and the bistro caters to families. Upstairs is where the young cool people hang out. Sometimes the upstairs rooms become a night club.

This is the perfect suburban hotel.

Went to have few drinks as weather was crazy and hot. Once we got there decided to order lunch as well I order lamb chopps but insread of lamb chops I was served a fatty piece of meat with bones and under cooked I told medium rare so disappointed we were running so late so I dididnt bother to complain. Place it self didnt look very appeling seems like some sort of renovation is happening will I go back to this place again I would say yes but will never order same dish

Sounds pretty average, I am surprised that you rated it so highly.

I really like the food choices and the price is excellent. They have great beers on tap the only thing that is missing is the service really...

This place may look pleasant - but don't be fooled. After trying this place out a few times I have found there is one nice staff member I have met, the rest are absolute rude, arrogant people. I would never step foot back in this place again. Yuck.

The food at the bistro is great, good range and value for money. Staff is friendly, place is clean, there is an outdoor area too.

We went to the hotel on a Friday night and had dinner in the bistro for a birthday celebration. As a group of 16 people, the staff was very quick and friendly. They moved tables, advised us on food, double-checked orders. The food was fantastic, my steak was delicious and the ribs looked wonderful, prices were very reasonable.

The Ashfield hotel has a nice modern atmosphere, with plenty of seating both inside and in the outdoor courtyard. There's a good selection of food on the menu and the meals come relatively quickly. There's also a gaming lounge as well.

Some nights they have trivia or other forms of entertainment, and they draw good sized crowd.

Had lunch at the bistro a couple of times - the food is quite good albeit slightly pricier than the Crocodile Farm Hotel down the road. The staff here are really nice and friendly. Overall, a pleasant lunch spot - plus, dining in the outdoor courtyard will be an added incentive come summer.

Approximate cost: $15

Delicious food for a great price. Restaurant quality food at Bistro prices. $10 chicken schnitzel, with chips and salad is great. Check out the specials board for great specials and the Tossed burger is awesome.

Approximate cost: $10-$18
