We were so disappointed, as location and atmosphere was great. Food was very average and many items not available on the menu. If these guys could like the food standard they would do very well, but as it is currently it’s a real let down!

Always have a soft spot for Barwon Heads so we treated ourselves to salt and pepper calamari here.It was lovely sitting out by the water and enjoying the fresh food. A favourite spot.

An old favourite that peaked long ago and has never quite climbed back on its pedestal.
The view is absolutely worth a million bucks, that's what takes us back everytime. The restaurant itself is set up really well so any table has a great view of the bridge or out to sea, and great that the outside is being used for drinks and nibbles.
On Friday night my husband and I had six oysters and calamari for entree and fish of the day and pork belly for mains. We have come to expect paying high prices here, but never quite leave being blown away.
The oysters didn't have that super fresh taste, and the calamari had a weird combination of eggy aoli and strong Harissa sauce.
The mains were really tasty and good portions but very oily.
I love they have gluten free options on the menu, and they also indicate where something can be made gluten free.
Couldn't fault the service - the young kids did well. Always a lovely airy, casual atmosphere with fine dining set up.

great location and such a lovely view. food is nice but its on the expensive side of things, and not somehwere id take the kids personally as it gets too expensive. other than that though its a great place with a great atmosphere and lovely staff.

Per the other reviews, I found the view great. We ordered two meals for our party (2 adults+2 kids) and found the food, probably a 7 out of 10. One was a calamari, with the other a chicken schnitzel - nearly $70 with a side of chips.
the decor is ok - worn, but in a well-loved, seaside tavern way.

I thought the staff were trying a bit hard to flog the drinks and when I asked for water (tap variety), that somehow got forgotten. No big deal but the enthusiasm with which the paid drinks were pushed seemed consistent !

Great location, awsome view, fantastic food, friendly & efficient service.
At the Heads is located right on the water at Barwon Heads, it is a great spot to watch the sunset or a storm roll in. The food was well presented and tasted great!

Food is great, seafood broth that i had from the specials board was delicious. Worth going here for the view alone, nothing beats it - although the menu is priced accordingly. Sit on the deck in summer or try to snag the couch near the fire in winter and enjoy the outlook.

A beautiful setting for a coffee, wine, meal or event. The view is unbeatable and the quality is great. The seafood is all delicious and the meals large, however a dinner for two is unlikely to cost under $100.

This is one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast and dinner. It is located on the pier at Barwon Heads and it has a fantastic view over the Barwon River and out to sea. Although it is a predominantly seafood restaurant they do cater for those of us who don't like seafood. Their menu always has a wide variety of dishes on it and their breakfasts are excellent. I would really recommend eating here.
