thought i'd give this place a go since its one of the few bakeries open on a saturday where i could pick up some bagels.
The bagels are so close to the new york bagels. lots of pastries, biscuits etc look to die for in the window. Good for a window drool to work up the appetite. staff are extremely friendly

Aviv makes delicious food! We bought a lot of food here for our engagement party and everyone raved about it. We got a really large cake (served 40+) for $80, definately well worth the money, very reasonably priced for an engagement cake.

Keep going back for their delicious cakes. The pear and chocolate torte is to die for! A definite stand out and highly recommended for the sweet tooth.

I love Aviv and I hate Aviv. I love it because the bagels, onion rolls and challas are wonderful. I hate it because I can't walk past their enticing window display without stopping in for an individual Isreali style babka (chocolate fix) or monkey face (nostalgia fix). The bureka are also a great lunch standby, especially the potato and leek, and the spinach quiche is a good standby dinner option, really tasty with good pastry, and I don;t even really like quiche. Staff are friendly and helpful and will hold the door open for parents with prams or elderly clientele. They know lots of their customers by name which is always a good sign. It can get really busy, especially on weekends, but they have a ticket system to keep the sometimes pushy customers under control, which the staff do with good grace. I think I'm off there now to get some pan au chocolate and croissants for the family breakfast and might sneak in a little somthing for me to eat onthe way home.

FANTASTIC quality. The cakes and pastries are to die for. The quality is fantastic and is very hard to walk past without buying something. The range is great from cakes, bagels, pastries. They even have a cafe with great coffee. Often hard to get a table as they are always busy.

This is it...a lovely shop, just perfect for naughty cakes and biscuits. The apple crumble danish is a favourite of mine, but I have to pace myself........sometimes stopping on way to work to enjoy this delight. the biscuits are flawless, the merrigues with the choc ganache to die for and the home made pies and pasties are crisp and always hot and fresh. This is in my book the best pattiserie in Melbourne.

Approximate cost: $5.00

Aviv cakes are V_E_R_Y good. Whenever I pass by ... I just cant stop myself going in and buying a vanilla slice. Hmmmmm delicious. And my wife is always sending me there to buy that Isreali chocholate cake to show off to her friends as if she made it.

aviv is great for all of our bakery treats not to mention Jewish fare. The only issue is that it can be totally hectic and there is very little parking. Some customers can be a little pushy. But staff are very speedy and friendly

Great bagels, great cakes and all round one of the best bakeries in Melbourne. But you have to be quick as on weekends the cakes and bagels go fast. You can't beat it!
