A very modern establishment with a great bottle shop and some comeptetive prices although I would say that compared to other bottle shops they are not the best priced. service is not always that good.

Since they have renovated this place, it is much nicer. We went there not long ago for dinner and drinks. The waiter messed up our meals and we ended up getting beef not chicken, but the food was nice. It really is a nice place to sit outside and have a few drinks with your friends.

A modern restaurant with an up-market menu, the Avoca offers a good range of quality meals, in nice surrounds. I particularly enjoy their pizza! I was impressed with the service and friendliness of staff.

The Avoca hotel has recently expanded to include a fine dining area, where you can sit down with your partner for a classy dinner, or take the family for a delicious function. Prices are reasonable for what they serve, averaging approx $18 for a decent main, they do the classic 'curry of the day', and their seafood is fresh and well prepared. Also, they have BYO wine, so save some dollars by popping over to the thirsty camel drive through next door, then bring it back over!

We found the service to be good and the surroundings to be pleasant. The meals were well priced, the quality of the food was fantastic. We will be going there again.

The Avoca Hotel has some great areas to eat. The outside area is very nice on a warm sunny day and they have smoke free tables. On various week days they have specials at very reasonable prices eg Mexican Schnitzals etc. The lunch menus are very good.

Dropped in for a Monnday lunch meal. Surroundings were good and service quick. Thay had a range of specials for Monday but I had Salt and Pepper Squid and salad. Nice meal. Followed up with a coffee and had a bet on the adjacent TAB near the bar. Would recommend for a quick budget type meal.

I ate here in late October the new menu caters for a different niche than before.

The prices have increased but it is still cheaper than some pubs in the area.

Bottle shop prices are consistently very good.

Approximate cost: $17-26

I have previously rated the Avoca however I felt I needed to re-rate it because the last couple of times I have eaten there were very disappointing. The menu has changed recently and so the prices have risen, and unfortunately, the food quality and selection has decreased. With only one vegetarian main option on the menu, I had no choice but to have the filo strudel (swiss chard, pinenuts, ricotta & feta) $17- well, it was not good at all. Soggy pastry, slimy spinach and hardly any cheese. My friend had the so called chicken kiev $23, but it was just a very ordinary tasting piece of chicken with a hard garlic butter ball on the side (no lovely melted juicy garlic butter filling here). For the prices you would expect much more. I am not sure what has changed here (maybe a new chef), but we used to visit one a week, but we are looking elsewhere now.

Approximate cost: $17-25

Hi Michilli, thanks for sharing your less than optimal experience. From what you have described, the vegetarian strudel sounds positively horrid. Given the ease (and minimal expense) at which such pastries can be turned out, there is no excuse for presenting such a disappointing dish which happens to speak volumes about the level of expertise (or lack thereof) from the so-called chef. Very disappointing! Thanks for alerting others! Regards, Reeces
