Nah, the food's not really worth it here.
Service is ok. I mean you can't expect better or worse, so nothing wrong with this aspect.
And it's very expensive for what you get. I mean a supreme pizza for $21?!?! Might as well stick with any generic pizza chain. Much cheaper and about the same quality

For the food it's excellent but drinks are way overpriced it's more like an upper class pub than other pubs hence it's got fine dining

Attended a 90th Birthday Celebration here last night (15th Dec 2016) - had it in a private room off to 1 side of the bar. Cosy area that can take 2 long tables and fit approximately 28 people comfortably. Then there is room near the window, to have a big table where you can put the gifts and cake on. There is also a TV on the wall, which can be used to run photo's through, from a lap top.The service was first rate with a very friendly waitress. Didn't have to wait long for the dirty dishes to be removed.Food was really lovely, with VERY generous serving sizes. The RSL bought this establishment over a year ago and the menu seems to have improved a lot - compared to when we were last here over 2 years ago.Prices average on most of the food and drinks.Has a great outdoor beer garden that is shaded from the hot sun, along with a large TV and BBQ area for outdoor cooking.Would definitely go back.

Fabulous atmosphere, delicious food and great service! A very nice place to meet friends and have an enjoyable meal. The seafood platter was popular amongst us, schnitzels were fabulous with crisp chips and the usual salad. The steaks were quickly consumed by the men in our group and the salt and pepper squid was just perfect. Our meals were ready in a timely manner, servings quite generous and staff efficient and friendly.

I haven't been to the Avoca for quite a while, and it was nice to go back. My friend and I both had rump steak, chips and salad and it was lovely. There is table service for ordering and water and bread is brought over too. Alana served us and she was very friendly, despite being very busy and at times a little distracted. No complaints - all good!

This is one of my favourite places and it never seems to disappoint. Their schnitzels are excellent and the chips are too. The salad is typical of what you find, but no complaints. The dining room is very attractive and the staff very friendly and helpful. I love the table service when they fill your glasses with water and make you feel very welcome.

Just another one of those stylish new pub types that's on South Road nearish Castle Plaza. I like the convenience of this place as it's near where I live.
Don't mind the place as it's usually full of people that want a bit of a meal and a good meeting place for drinks before they move on to greener pastures such as night clubs in the city.
Is it worth it? I think it is.
Is it recommended? I would say so
Would I come again? Yes

Recently joined a friend for their Tuesday schnitzel special lunch. We were greeted by a very friendly and efficient waitress and shown to our table. This was followed by her bringing us a carafe of cold water and glasses, which was an unexpected and appreciated little extra. The schnitzels were absolutely delicious and were accompanied by a small but very fresh salad. I look forward to returning.

Hubby and I went here for tea last night. We have been here a number of times before, but last night was shocking. No vegan options (fine), but staff/chef could only offer a salad for dinner. Could not alter any vegetarian dish and very uninterested in trying. Hubby disappointed with his chicken schnitzel with pathetic salad (he had some of mine!). We won't be returning.

Great bar, if you want to watch the footy or have dinner with your partner this is the place to be, staff are quite friendly, there is an outdoor area which is quite nice, a fancy restaurant and an indoor pub area, will be back
