Lovely food. Not too informal but not too formal either. A great, chilled atmosphere and classic American diner style.

Burger theory now has a permanent shop front!

They are located at Union Street, adelaide CBD. Their burgers are better, because they are cooked on site, not in a cramped truck, and they have plenty more options!
My favourite is the traditional style cheeseburger, with pickles, cheese, mustard and sauce.

They are still a little expensive, but totally worth it!

I had the $9 option in my lunch break. The food wasn't too bad, I guess you are paying for the experience of having a food van in the city but because they are so busy it's not really practical once you've walked to the location and you've only got half an hour lunch break as they are usually quite busy and takes a while to receive your meal. Not bad for a one off but I don't think I'd go back everytime they are around.

As a foodie, it was destined that Burger Theory and I would meet one day. And today we did.
There were only 2 options. Option 1 was $9, while Option 2 was $11. You could add fries and a drink for an extra $6. Pricey for something so simple, but they have to pay their overheads and with their following, they can command whatever prices people are willing to pay.

Get the burger and it looks very plain. Friends I was with kept saying how good the burgers were and I agreed that they were nice. Maybe it was the sugary buns they used, maybe their live cow patties that were nice and rare. Maybe it was a combination of it all.

In conclusion, muchly over rated. From all the hype surrounding this company, expectations were very high. Their product was good, but not 'that' good. Actually, quite normal.
Would I go again? Probably once more just to try the other burger option. And I would only buy the burger.

Approximate cost: $exp

I agree that the burgers are overpriced!

They are super tasty. The bread is similar to sweet brioche bread, so delicious. A much better fit than some of the heavy bread that usually accompanies home style burgers.

But at $9-12, it's a bit of an ask. The burgers are only a light meal, not something that would fill you up if you're quite hungry. The fries are $4, and then drinks $3. That means you can end up paying around $20 for a lunch.

I do think Burger Theory will be around for awhile and I will eat there again because I'm not good with money and I eat out a lot!

But there are some pretty tasty burritos and other street food in the city and BT has some strict competition. I wonder whether, once novelty has worn off, Burger Theory will have to rethink their pricing.

That's surprising with the price. Yeah I do agree with you 20 for lunch sounds too much.

one of the first and the best food trucks that hits adelaide. Awesome juicy beef burgers. One of the best beef burger i have ever tried. Go there early if not u need to wait for a least 10 minutes for your yummy burger.

Approximate cost: $10

Ok so their burgers are awesome!!! But i still think they are a little overpriced. There is a 20min line up then a 20min wait to get your order from a mobile van so $10 a burger is a bit steep-just saying.

Approximate cost: $10

Being Vegetarian I didn't try the burgers, but the burrito was very very nice, there was a long wait, as they are very popular

Approximate cost: $9

These guys serve hamburgers and burritos from a van. They are brand new, and will have a permanent street address in the city from July 2011. Check out their website, and face-book page for more information. I tried their burritos and was blown away, very lucky my friend was a fan on face-book and we caught them in the city.

Approximate cost: $13.00
