OMG we had dinner here on our last night of visiting. It was amazing! The fish and calarmari were cooked to perfection. The cafe overlooked the marina and was amazing

The meals are always really delicious, the staff are always super friendly and helpful, prices seem to be appropriate to what you receive including the good service. Breakfast lunch or dinner, small groups large groups or just a couple on date night, this place is consistently unbelievable.

Approximate cost: $15 - $30

We had our department's x'mas party in Dec 2013 here. Since we pre-ordered our meals a few hours ago, we were able to request exactly what time we would like to have the meals served. I had the Chirpy Chicken turkey bread open grill (with mushroom and cheese on it). Not only it tasted delicious but the salad was also very fresh. Would have been better and more value to have more salad on the side. One of my colleages ordered the vegetarian pasta which also looked very colourful and appetising.

Approximate cost: $10-25

I always find the service to be friendly, but sometimes there are delays (usually when they are really busy, because they are quite popular.) The meals are quite prices, but delicious and the atmosphere the cafe provides is beautiful, overlooking the water. My husband took me here for our wedding anniversary and going for a stroll along the harbour after a very pleasant meal was lovely. I would definitely recommend Café Balaena!

This is our favourite casual dining venue in Hervey Bay. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is great and the view overlooking the marina is fabulous. Whether it's a meal or coffee and cake - we love eating at Café Balaeno.

I once had dinner there with my friends. It started off with a lovely evening with the cool breeze in the summer. Then after we ordered our meals, it started raining and eventually, the wind blew so hard that we had rain coming through the plastic fabric barriers, wetting and cooling down our nice hot meals. If only there were any spaces inside the cafe, it would have been much better. I am sure though on a sunny day, it is extremely pleasant to see the ocean view. Desserts (cheesecakes) are are must to try!

I went here for lunch with family friends who regularly go here. The service was good and I like how there is a large selection of gluten free meals. (I'm gluten sensitive) the food was scrumptious and the desert I tried was so rich and filling. It is right on the boat harbor where you can see the boats. Overall a lovely place to eat knowing you'll get a quality meal.

Stayed nearby and dined here a couple of times. Food was fabulous, a little pricey but worth it. Great setting on the water watching the tour boats come in but average service. Would recommend.

Approximate cost: $30

We've dined here several times and the food has been fantastic, really high standard for the price. Service is good but stay away on really busy nights, they can't cope well with a full house and it can be a bit of a wait for meals but they are very considerate and apologetic of this. Nice people.
