One of the most significant and oldest bakeries in Box Hill, this cake shop is still doing well despite some steep competitions around.

The cakes nor pastries aren't as fanciful looking as the ones sold at other bakeries but the savouriness and the services provided by the staff are exceptional. Not forgetting they are reasonably priced too.

When I crave for Asian pastries or cakes, this is one of the bakeries that I will patronise.

This cake shop is famous for its red bean cream Swiss roll. It costs usually $8.00-10.00 a log. And it's famous for its light Japanese cheese cake available for $10.00 (maybe now price has increased)

Place is super packed with people buying buns and cookies on weekends.

Approximate cost: $10.00

There are more and more Asian bakeries popping up in Box Hill, but none of them compare to Carrington which has been around for many many years. Their cakes taste better and are reasonable priced. My favourite is their Portugese tarts, they taste better than the ones I tasted in Portugal. Their birthday cakes are also very good value and they make it fresh.

Can't wait to try some of their cakes and pastries.

This place is somewhere that I have been going for many years. I am a fan of the paper sponge cakes which can be purchased from many Chinese style bakeries, but they are one of the better ones. The sponge is light and golden inside and very light, providing just the right texture as you bite into them and it begins to melt in your mouth. Value wise it is around the same price as other stores. Box Hill is very competitive with around 10 to 15 Chinese/Asian bakers nearby.

Approximate cost: $2

Decent chinese bakery with wide range of breads to choose from. The presentation of cakes/buns slightly less attractive when compared to chain bakeries such as breadtop. But overall the prices are good and the cakes are yummy. My favorite is the walnut cake.

Offer a good range of cakes and buns. The buns are tasty and cheap, the cakes are good value and look great but are often more Chinese in style than the name may suggest.

They have a range of cakes mainly Chinese style or English style. Their cakes are considerably cheaper than other stores. Buns are delicious and fresh as well.
