When the screen of our iPod started lifting away from the back of the device and we couldn't snap it back in place I contacted Apple to arrange to drop off the iPod for repair. The earliest appointment that Apple Highpoint could manage for me to drop off my device was one week away, and when I asked for something earlier they suggested I go to their authorised dealer, Centre Com at 128 Hampshire Road Sunshine. I went to Centre Com the same day and was fortunate enough to speak to Edward, who immediately pinpointed the problem as a faulty battery that had expanded.

My iPod was almost 2 years old, but Edward organised a new replacement from Apple, and I had a new unit within two days.

I was absolutely blown away by the outstanding service I received from Edward at Centre Com Sunshine. He took the trouble to phone me and keep me updated along the way, and seemed to really care about our situation. This sort of good old-fashioned service is very rare these days. Too often, particularly in Telcos and Computer Stores, staff treat customers with indifference and "tech-speak".

Edward's ability to communicate in clear layman's English, the empathy he showed us, and his quick resolution of our issue certainly exceeded any service expectations I previously had.

Thank you so much.

This is the supermarket of computer shops, and like one you have to stand in a queue. On entering take a ticket straight away, then you'll be called to the desk when your number comes up, a little like the deli.

That's fine when there's two or three staff at the desk, but if there's only one, the wait might be quite long. You can browse in the glass cases of laptops and cooling systems while you are waiting.

Sometimes it's easy - you go in and they have what you want in stock - the prices are pretty good but I've since found a cheaper alternative, however there are some things they have which are cheaper than the rest.

But often they don't have the item in stock, even if they told you they did on the phone. Then it's been a frustrating trip for nothing, as I had the other day when wanting high end camera cards.

Plus most people who come in here - let's face it, it's a nerd shop - know what they want - but then you get the rest who ask questions. If you get stuck behind someone who wants a computer but doesn't know what they want exactly, it can be maddening.

So overall, use them for what is cheap, be prepared to wait and sometimes be told what you want is at their warehouse, and take advantage of their specials, but also have another computer shop to compare them to for your other items.

If you miss the turn off to their car park, go round the roundabout and back, don't go over the overpass into Sunshine shopping centre or I guarantee you won't get back in a hurry.

Staff do know what they are talking about, which is a plus. The look of the store is basic - plain carpet and plain plaster walls, glass cases with some stock. Just on the side of grungy ... almost. Think it was a former theatre and could do with an upgrade.

One thing I like is they print you out a full A4 page receipt/invoice thing. Harder to lose than the little stuff. Take note of warranty time and make sure you take it back within this time. We've had a couple of hard drives die and be taken back. They send them off and you get another one or they repair that one.

Good but not great overall.

Approximate cost: $Some cheap components, depends what you want.

Everytime I go to this store, I find everything I am after and usually end up walking out with more than I had intended to purchase.

This isn't because of pushy staff, its because the prices are suited to most budgets and are priced to be more than competitive with other stores.

The service, while not always fast, is always helpful and informative and they don't push you to buy a more expensive item than the one you wanted.

Their online store is easy to navigate and their delivery time is very quick.

I will be returning to this store time and time again even though I live nowhere near it.

I purchased 2 laptops last year for my children and they have been very happy with them. One of the chargers played up and they replaced it. One computer just recent got damaged and the service repair was attended to very quickly. I would purchase any compter from Centre Com without hesitation.

I have bought several things from CentreCOM and have found them to always be polite, professional and friendly. I went in the other day to have my laptop checked as it was not working. The tech was courteous enough to quickly check it for me and tell me the issue, he said that it should be covered by the warranty and to go back to where I bought it and check as they may be able to fix it under the warranty. This displayed the consistent excellent and honest service I have always experienced with these guys. I highly recommend. BY the way I went back to the original shop that I bought my laptop from and they fixed it for free as it was covered under warranty. Thanks Centrecom!

This computer shop is on par with MSY in Pascoevale. The service works on a ticket system and it is usually busy. The prices are competitive and I have found them very helpful

I bought some computer products from this store. The store is laid out good and you get a ticket for the waiting in line so you can work around and browse the shop while waiting for the number. Only downside is because its a cheap shop you have to wait a while to be served.

Approximate cost: $1000
