We had a quick lunch at Debacle recently. I thought the food was a little over-priced, but it was well-presented, and better-than-average pub grub. The staff were very pleasant and attentive.

Nice atmosphere, decent enough food, good customer service. A good place to go with a group for the ability to get a large table, large variety of food choices and the ability to split the bill.

Great pizzas, good crust, good toppings. Happy to accommodate group bookings. Fantastic service, massive selection of beers on tap, in bottles as well as a good selection of ciders.

Good food, great staff and service. However we were there and it was a really hot day and it seemed that the air con was not working the best and there were only 3 ceiling fans. Was the only down side of the night. Maybe stick to this place when it is not a hot day/night.

Hyped up as 'ever reliable' and 'great value' by my mates, I thought, surely this won't be a debacle, and it had better be one of the better haunts in Canberra. In terms of beer available, it is, but with variety comes high price for these beers.... really high prices. The food appears good on the menu, but it really is very simple and in my case, it wasn't well executed (Aussie Hot Dog).... I'll still give it a another go on the basis of their beer menu, but I won't expect much out of the kitchen.

Approximate cost: $24

Good things: 2 for 1 pizzas on Mondays and Tuesdays (dine in only, must book, two sittings - 6pm and 8pm); pizzas are good and generously sized; the other meals are also good; there's a HUGE range of beer on tap; their desserts change often are are usually divine; it's beautiful to sit outside in summer; they can be very accommodating for large groups.

Less good things: It is LOUD inside! Hard to hear your friends talk, especally if they're not sitting directly next to/across from you. The breakfast was only ordinary/acceptable, not as good as the rest of their food. The 6pm/8pm sittings thing can be annoying, but on the other hand, I'm pretty sure it's just for cheap pizza night.

Approximate cost: $20

The 2 for 1 pizza deals are fantastic, adn they have a good selection of beers and ciders (pear cider in particular) to create a good pub-style meal.

I really enjoy Debacle, and even had a birthday shindig here. The staff are pleasant, the cafe is relaxed, and the food is pretty great! Check out the pizza deals or enjoy a lazy breakfast.

Approximate cost: $15

Great atmosphere, food and staff. My only gripe was the grossness of the kitchen that you can see from the bar!!! Dirty equipment and floors, needs a good scrub!
