I tried Din Tai Fung for the first time and was quiet pleased with the food they served. I tried the Braised Beef Noodle Soup which was really flavoursome and I would definitely come back here just for this dish. I also had the Crab meat & Roe with pork dumplings which tasted ok, but I didn't like the thickness of the dumpling skin that much.

Had lunch at Din Dai Fung at level 5 food court at Westfield. The food court was generally crowded and there was a small queue to order at DDF. But it was not a long wait at all as everyone had to fill out an order form before approaching the counter. After ordering you are given a beeper while you waited at your seat.

We shared a basket of xiao long bao (soup dumpling) and green beans with mince meat. Dumplings were ok but not the best I had tasted, but long beans sensational. We also had a bowl of noodles each, one soup and one dry. Both were ok, but nothing too fantastic.

Although this place just like it's other name sakes have queues like no other, its certainly worth the wait for their dumplings I must say! If dumplings aren't your thing , their are other choices on the menu to satisfy your hunger hit.Even their menu says " the world's tastiest dumplings" and I have to agree. We opted for the crab meat and pork dumplings, crispy fried chicken and a braised beef noodle soup for the kids to share. Food came out not too long after it was ordered, my favourite were the dumplings - with quite a bit of crab meat and pork inside them . Dipped into the condiments of pepper , vinegar, soy and chillli sauce , it makes for a tasty dish! The chicken was also a hit with my Mum too. Crunchy and lots of spicy fresh chilli which almost has a burning sensation on your tongue, but oh so good!

Be prepared to queue up for the tasty food as it seems all of Sydney have come to eat as well. Bit pricey but the food is delicious!

I love eating here because the only thing i love more than dumplings is weis bars... :D
Best dumplings in town most likely because they are always so busy you know your always getting fresh just cooked dumplings. Expensive but you have to go at least once and also expect to wait so dont wait untill your starving before you head there.

Make sure you get a party of 5+, it's more fun! This is the best yumcha restaurant we found so far in Sydney, If you going for lunch on a Sunday, make sure you book your table to avoid the massive queue! Some of the dishes you will find are pork dumplings, spinach and prawn dumplings and those yummy mango pancakes filled with some sort of ricotta/cream and mango. Service and prices are ok

For the price I really expected better food. The service is efficient, although a little cold. It is a clean restaurant but I don't think I will come here again given some of the tasty and cheaper competition in the area.

Have to agree with you. I was not really impressed with this place either. Their outlet at Westfield is better.

Went here after reading great reviews about the dumplings but was greatly disappointed given the hype. Had a steamed bun, a plate of dumplings and a wonton and noodle soup with my partner. We found the bun and dumplings to be good but not exceptional compared to some cheaper places around. The real disappointment was the soup which completely lacked flavour (was very much just hot water and coriander). Overall is alright, maybe some of the other branches are better, but I won't be eating here again given the tasty competition available. Service is quick but not very much interaction.

Been here are few times as the food is really tasty!

I find it quite expensive for what you get (depending on what filling you get, you could be paying up to about $8 or so for four little dumplings).

The food is really flavoursome and it doesn't take too long to make. The longest we've had to wait when they were really busy was about 15min.

The service isn't extraordinary. You fill in a sheet of paper with what you want to order and the person at the counter puts it into the computer, you pay and move on.

I would definitely recommend this place for the food.

I'd also think it would be expensive, 6 bucks plus for dumplings.. 8 bucks for 4 dumplings... I'm not too sure
