As a first time bride, finding a perfect wedding dress which suited my shape/size whilst having the detail and style i wanted was seemingly impossible. When i arrived at d'Italia I realised that what i truly needed was a custom made dress for my special day which would be made from premium quality material, with my own unique style and built in corsetry so i feel my best on my wedding day. On arrival we were able to go through a wide range of lace and fabrics in person and talk through how the dress would come to life. I had visited numerous dress stores throughout Melbourne over several months so I became very familiar with what was on offer, quality and prices. At d’italia I immediately noticed that the quality of the material far surpassed the imported dresses i had previously tried on in numerous other stores. Designing the dress was so much fun with combining aspects of dresses i viewed on Instagram which would suit my personality and style. I’m really glad I chose d’Italia and I would highly recommend them to my friends and family!

I had the most amazing journey with D'Italia creating my custom dream wedding dress! From designing it myself, to getting expert advice on buying the appropriate fabric, the whole process was a very special and fun experience.

From the beginning, everything was explained really well. I was taken through the beautiful silk fabrics and French lace and was given advice and guidance on what would work best for my dress. I was referred to an experienced dressmaker who understood my design. After a number of dressing fittings, my dress was ready and I was blown away by the end result – it fitted me perfectly and was exactly what I wanted for my destination wedding in Bali.

I can't thank Shuchi and the team at D'Italia enough for their expert knowledge, the dress wouldn't have been what it was without the correct fabrics to start with! It was a lovely personal experience and I couldn't recommend them more!

I had an amazing experience at D'Italia. They have an amazing collection of fabrics & laces and expert design advice, all at the same place. Shuchi was very knowledgeable, friendly and immediately put me at ease with the whole process. The whole process was explained really well. I was taken through the beautiful silk fabrics and French lace and was given advice and guidance on what would work best for my dress. As my wedding was pretty formal and I had spent close to $8,000 towards the dress, the dressmaker knew what my expectations were from the dress and she crafted the dress better than what I had imagined. I absolutely loved my wedding dress, it fit me perfectly and I was so comfortable. From start to finish my whole experience with D'Italia was amazing. It came within my budget and it was custom made for me and made me feel like a princess.

I had a fantastic experience. Super friendly staff with a beautiful variety of fabrics to choose from.
The beautiful lady who greeted us eased me into the process of designing a dress that would suit me perfectly. After only a few minutes of chatting she got my vision right away.She created a sketch within minutes and finally the image I had of my dress was right on the page in front of me.
She worked with me to stay within my budget and brought down the price as much as possible while not affecting the quality of the dress.

If you are looking for a high quality, unique, breathtaking wedding dress then look no further than d'Italia. I felt totally at ease and left feeling 100% confident in my decision to get my wedding dress made! I felt very well looked after and as special as every bride should feel!

I would not recommend this business to anyone.
The sales assistant Shuchi (who claims to be the owner of the business) has refused to reimburse me of close to $2,900 that was paid for fabrics on my initial visit to the store. This was ordered without me discussing with the dressmaker directly first of all design aspects of the dress. Then deciding on what fabrics would best suit the look.
I changed my mind due to being uncomfortable with the way the transaction was handled so quickly and without any explanation.
The terms of business were not explained to me in any way. I was not shown any wedding gowns made by their recommended dressmaker for me and I felt I was forced into buying this fabric immediately without knowing the huge fabric cost I would be paying upfront and without being advised of the no change of mind policy.
D'Italia only provide fabric to their customers. They do not make the gowns themselves.
I was not provided with a calculation cost sheet or formal quote, I was not informed I would be paying for the full cost of the fabric on the day until after the funds had been processed.

I felt uncomfortable as I left the store - thinking back as to how the sale was made and how I felt I had been deceived.
Due to this, I cancelled my order within 6 hours of paying the deposit on a Saturday night and D'Italia have advised the material overseas has already been cut by the supplier. (within 6 hours of purchase) I followed up with this cancellation request the following day as soon as the store opened. I followed up again and again (my calls were not returned) and did not receive a refusal to reimburse my deposit from Shuchi until Wednesday 30-1-19
I have asked for a refund - D'Italia have refused to reimburse me. I was then advised that my materials would not be arriving until early April which would also not allow a dressmaker of MY choice enough time to make. D'italia will not allow me to discuss this matter with the owner Suzanna Zagon, instead advising me that the staff member Shuchi at the Malvern Vic store is the owner of this business.
I'm sure the owner of the business would discuss this with me more maturely than her staff have. I'm sure she would understand my situation and for the sake of good will I'm sure she would reimburse the amount in full.
At this stage I will not be getting married in my dream wedding gown as planned in July 2019.

Unfortunately my experience with D'Italia wasn't as pleasant as I had hoped. Firstly I wasn't sold all the material required to create the dress I had shown the sales assistant.. I was very excited at the time of purchase as I was lead to believe I had everything I needed to create my dream dress and I had not exceeded my budget by much. Unfortunately in meeting with my dress designer (Who was fabulous) that I would need additional material to achieve the soft look and feel pictured. Which left me spending well over my budget.
Then on my wedding I noticed pearls falling off my Italian lace! This was before I had even left for the ceremony. Very disappointing! And now to top things off when discussing my concerns the sales assistant she proceeded to laugh twice durning our conversation and also said I was blowing things out of proportion. Which I find very unprofessional and quite frankly rude.
Please brides to be ensure you have you need so you don't get and unexpected surprises and disappointment like me!

Your staff were SOOOO helpful and really made it so easy for me to get the dress of my dreams made up perfectly. The dressmaker was a lovely and VERY talented... she really took her time and perfected the dress that I wanted. Thanks so much – I will be back for another special occasion.

I have recently brought a fabulous gown for my sister's wedding from d'Italia. i am extremely happy when i fit it because i was so beautiful and elegant. the good thing also with this shop is the staffs are friendly and helpful.

If you are after some latest designer fabrics or you are after some fabrics for special occasions, you might want to visit D'Italia. They have the most beautiful and luxurious fabrics money can buy. Italian silks, cashmere, wool, cotton in many different colors and prints. Not to mention the most beautiful french lace imported from France (to die for!). If you don't mind to splurge, this is the place to visit to indulge your inner fashionista.
