Dondon is an unassuming hole-in-the-wall restaurant by appearance. It serves up a great variety of extremely fresh sushi, sashimi and authentic hot japanese dishes at affordable prices.

Simple, yet ever-satisfying authentic Japenese. Although Don Don's presents with a humble shopfront and interior, this place is not to be overlooked. Boasting a large menu, fresh food and hand rolled sushi to boot, this is my go to restaurant when ever I am in the city.

Staff are friendly, you can BYO, and the prices are insanely cheap for the large portions you receive!

My first experience of a traditional Japanese restaurant has set my standards very high. This place is perfect to duck into after battling the busy walkway of Oxford Street for a light snack, a main meal or just a tummy-warming miso soup.
The staff are genuine and the food id superb. I will be heading there whenever I am in the CBD from now on. The prices are so cheap - you can come and go after having a hand-rolled sushi and soup for only $3.50!
I strongly recommend to anyone looking the real thing.

Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere with plenty of young people/students. The sushi hand rolls are very fresh and only $2-$2.50 each and the meals are big and yummy.

This place is definitely overlooked. Great authentic Japanese meals - owned and run by Japanese - which is very hard to find. Quality is great, taste is tops...not the best decor but that is not what you go here for. Great food every time. Just don't expect 5 star settings.

The best place for a quick lunch or dinner. Fast service and the portion size is spot on. Some sashimi and one of their lovely little bowls of udon fills me up and I always leave satisfied having only spent $9.50! Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are always very busy but just write your name on the list at the door, it's totally worth the wait.
