Leonie is by far the best lactation consultant around. She is extremely passionate, professional and encouraging. I learnt everything I needed as a first-time mum about feeding and also sleep (as these two things go hand-in-hand) from Leonie. She gave me the education, support and confidence to succeed in breast feeding and the first three months of life with my newborn. Hands-down the best investment I’ve made since falling pregnant.

As a first time mum, breastfeeding was one of many challenges I found hard to navigate. In hospital I struggled with supply and I couldn’t get my daughter to latch which was really stressful and upsetting. Then I met Leonie. Her professionalism from the moment I contacted her was outstanding. She is responsive, punctual and present in every interaction, which unfortunately isn’t always the case in the maternal health system. Her tailored advice lead to a positive breast feeding experience for me. Most importantly, she was the only person who had my daughter and my best interest at heart. She had my back 100% of the time, and took care of my mental health as well as my babies growth and development. I would often refer to Leonie as my cheerleader because she celebrated every little win I had and gave me encouragement to persevere even when I was losing faith.

Leonie is the best in the business!!! When I got home from hospital I was extremely vulnerable and had problems latching with nipple and breast pain. Leonie answered my text message immediately and put me on the right path. Her advice is tailored, she is thorough, she has a wealth of knowledge and most importantly, she gets results. She is a cheerleader for new mums struggling and fills a GIANT service/support gap in the maternal health system.

I was having a terrible time trying to breastfeed my third baby, who always seemed hungry and unsettled.
My plan was always to breastfeed and I was feeling defeated and like I needed to give up. He was alway crying, not latching well, his weight gain was low as he was not getting enough milk. I was exhausted expressing milk to top him up after every feed and feeling like I just couldn’t keep up with my hungry boy. Feeding my baby was almost a two hour routine and it felt like no sooner had I fed him he was awake and due for another feed.

After consulting with Leonie over the phone via face time, she was able to diagnose my baby with a tongue tie and recommended we see a good dentist to have it followed up, after his tie was corrected Leonie visited my home to help me refine my technique.
From that feed on we have successfully breastfeed EVERY feed, we have a reliable eat - play - sleep routine, I am confident recognising wind as opposed to hunger signs and my baby has been much much happier and settled overall. To top it off he is also sleeping longer at night since her visit and we started our new routine.

I was at my wits end about to give up on breastfeeding when I remembered that one of my friends had given me details of an amazing Lactation Consultant who had helped her. I called Leonie and she was around within the next few days. She sorted out all of the issues which had gone unoticed in hospital and was so comforting. I appreciated the humour she brought...I needed it! Leonie continued to follow up for the next six weeks and was like a coach throughout the process. Can not recommend highly enough!

Against all odds I successfully breastfed for 13 months and 2 weeks. If it wasn't for Leonie, my breastfeeding journey would have lasted 2 weeks. Leonie's expertise helped empower me and thanks to her I was able to continue, for me personally it also helped heal me from my baby blues. I can not speak highly enough of Leonie! she is an incredible lactation consultant and really knows how to empower the Mother. I first met her with my first child at the Angliss hospital - Ferntree Gully in 2009. she was working there and was a great help. I really regret not spending the $140 to have her home visit me. I managed to breast feed for only 3 months with my first child. Then with my second, I really wanted the help to breast feed for longer and so glad I got her to visit me at home. The BEST money I have ever spent. I breast fed for 18 months. Now my third is on the way and due in a few weeks. Without a doubt....I will be booking her in. Even if I think there may be no issues....she is just AMAZING!!
